Britain Makes Changes
During this year the British made some changes. They passed the Rowlatt Acts, that the government permitted to the ones that were in jail be without a trail for two years. With this they violated the rights of many Indians that wanted a trial. -
Civil Disobedience
The Congress Party approved civil disobedience, if they didn't want to follow unjust laws that they didn't were in favor of them. They were in favor of non-violence that led them to be independence. -
The Salt March
Gandhi proposed a non-violent march protesting the Salt Acts. He wanted to help free India from British control. He disobed the government in order to do this. The Salt Tax was illegal to sell or produce salt, and with this the British will have all the power. Since the salt is necessary for the people everyone was affected with this tax so they didn't care fighting for this. -
Government of India Act
After a time the British Parliament passed the Government of India Act. With this many changes came like limited democratic elections and self govern because they were not all independence but they started. -

After a lot of fighting, India finally got Independent. Indian Independence Act of 1947, this was about the United Kingdom seperate India two independent places based on religion. Pakistan (Muslim) and India (Hindus). -
Gandhi's Assasination
Gandhi was shot and killed by Nathuram Godse (Indian Nationalist). He assassinated Gandhi because Godse blamed Gandhi for the Partition of India which killed lots of people.
