This created The Tennis Court Oath. This was important because it was the first time the third estate really fought for a new constitution.

    Storming of BastilleA mob searching for gun powder stormed the Bastille, a prison. They took control from the guards. The attackers killed some of the guards and put their heads on pikes and paraded around the city. This was important because it was a symbolic act of the revolution.

    National ConventionThey called for new legislature. The new body of office was called the National Convention. They abolished the monarchy and declared France a republic. This was important because they abolished the monarchy.

    Napoleon named himself emperor in Decemeber of 1804. The French voters supported him. Napoleon took the crown from the pope placing it on his own head this showed he was more powerful than the church. This event was important because France crowns a new ruler.
