Napoleon named himself emperor in Decemeber of 1804. The French voters supported him. Napoleon took the crown from the pope placing it on his own head this showed he was more powerful than the church. This event was important because France crowns a new ruler. -

The Continental SystemNapoleon put up a blockade to close the ports. He wanted to prevent trade and communication between Great Britain and other European nations. This was known as the Continental System. This was important because this was supposed to make continental Europe more self-sufficient. -

Napoleon trys to regain powerNapoleon trys to regain power because Louis XVIII took the throne and was already not popular among his subjects. He escaped Elba in 1815. He was greeted with a joyous welcome. This is important because Napoleon a few days later became emperor again.
