    Doctrine warned European nations that the US would not tolerate further colonization or puppet monarch. They could do it in the Eastern Hemisphere but they were NOT to put anything on the Western Hemisphere.

    David Livingstones Missionary Work

    Livingstone was ordained as a missionary and set sail for South Africa. He arrived in Cape Town on March 14, 1841.
    Livingstone introduced Christianity and helped to free slaves. His trip to Africa inspired him for more explorations.

    A treaty that ended the first Opium War. It was the first of the unequal treaties between China and foreign imperialist powers.
