The Opium wars were the war between China and Great Britain. Great Britain wanted to trade with the Chinese, but the Chinese did not want anything from the Brits. So the Brits decided to trade them opium, which they then got addicted to leading to a lot of the trading, but they later realized what had happened, and it sparked a war. -

This rebellion started because of the mutiny that the British had done to them. The british would make their cartridges and line them with beef and pork fat which was against their religion. -

The Suez canal was a canal in Egypt on the Nile River. This opened a new route to the Eastern colonies making it the most used canal back then. -

Dr. Livingstone was finally found after his expedition to find the source of the Nile. He was unsuccessful but finally found by another expedition. -
Berlin conference Took place
The Berlin Conference started the colonization of Africa, splitting it up into different parts to be given out to different countries. -
Congo was colonized by Leopold II
Leopold was a dictator of this colony forcing slaves to collect rubber and ivory. If they did not however have enough rubber or ivory they would have to pay the rest of it in hands. -
The Boxer Rebellion
The Boxer rebellion was a rebellion in China which was a violent anti-foreign and anti-christian uprising. -
Panama Canal was finished
The Panama was built which made it an easier route to get to either Western or Eastern Countries.
