    Sepoys were Indian soldiers recruited by the british who rebelled after hearing rumors of pork fat being used to grease gun cartridges which was agaisnt Islamic religion. However, they were no match and were put down by the british.

    Under Ferdinand de Lesseps, a French diplomat, the suez canal was built. It was built to connect the Red sea with the Mediteranean to reduce time and money sailing between Europe and Asia.

    Boers who were Dutch settlers in South Africa, fought aginst the British. The war began when the British invaded Boer land to take over. It was ultimately a battle for land in Africa.

    Chinese peasants put seige on European areas in Beigjng but were defeated by the Europeans.
