Suez Canal Built
Under Ferdinand de Lesseps, a French diplomat, the suez canal was built. It was built to connect the Red sea with the Mediteranean to reduce time and money sailing between Europe and Asia. -
Boer War
Boers who were Dutch settlers in South Africa, fought aginst the British. The war began when the British invaded Boer land to take over. It was ultimately a battle for land in Africa. -
Boxer Rebellion
Chinese peasants put seige on European areas in Beigjng but were defeated by the Europeans. -
Revolution of 1911
The chinese rebelled against the Qing dynasty because they wanted a more modern and independent republic. They eventually created a democracy.
