    Sepoys, who were Indian soldiers, rebelled against the British. The British were easily able to cease the revolt, and after parliament tightened control of India and ended the dominance of the East India Co.

    British Raj founded
    This was when Great Britian controlled India. The British tried to appease the Indians by building the nation's economy and making them a world power.
  • Queen Victoria crowned Empress of India

    Queen Victoria crowned Empress of India
    Queen Victoria was crowned the Empress of India, which gave Great Britain absolute rule over India. G.B. was now able to call India one of there own, and they did so without provoking any violence.
