    By 1850, the Europeans had established a system of trade with the Africans. The Europeans wanted Africas raw materials and resources which was crucial for industrialization and other important things. They established a system of trade tohave access to all these things.

    In 1857, gossip spread among the sepoys, the Indian soldiers, that the cartridges of their new Enfeild rifles were greased with pork and beef which offended the Muslims(who do not eat pork). The next day, the sepoys rebelled. They marched to Delhi, where Indian soldiers joined them. As a result of this mutiny, the British took direct command of India, the raj soon began.

They agreed that any European country could claim land in Africa by notifying other nations and showing that it could control the area. They did these rules without and reasoning of different religous groups in Africa, they just divided it up.

    After the war, America got some countries including the Philipines. Next, the nationalists declared their independence and started the Philippine Republic. This was sparked by Emilio Aguinaldo who was the leader of the Filipino nationalists.
