Mom and dad are dead, got no where to go!
When my sisters left 5 years ago to start thier own lives, i was too young to remember where they went but I knew that they went west so when my mom and dad bought thier new car and went out for a test drive, I never thought that they would go that way. I started walking with some clothes, food and a little bit of water.
  • Immigrating to America!

    Immigrating to America!
After 10 years of being poor and living on the streets searching for my family, I saw a paper saying that you can immigrate to america for free where theres land and jobs and a chance to live your life in paradise! This sounds like a second chance to restart my life and get a second chance at well, Everything!
  • Found A job! (And got Denied)

Found A job! (And got Denied)
In America I Thought I had found a job when I had walked up to the office where you would sign up i knocked and a man in a very formal suit came out asking several questions. I knew most of the answers "Where are you from?" or "What's your name?" I answered them as well as i could but as soon as I said that I was from Ireland he called for security and i asked if anything was wrong and he said " yes, your from ireland." I would have asked why that so bad but he simply kicked me out.
  • Found Land(and lost it)

    Found Land(and lost it)
Though I had little money, I thought I could could pay for a barn and some land for a few weeks and grow some crops for money at the market, to pay for the barn and land, but I did not know what season to plant what little seeds I had brought so I planted them in the wrong season and they didnt grow well. They were either too small and mushy, or they were eaten by the different animals scrounging around. When I didnt pay, I was kicked out of the place, and back to being poor.
  • Traveled To the West

    Traveled To the West
I had nothing in the east, no job, no money, land, friends,no nothing. Now that everyone knew who I was, they knew that I was Irish so I couldnt get a job from any one here, so I will move west. When I moved west, I felt sad that I hadnt accomplished anything yet but at the same time I felt relived to be rid of all the hate of the east.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    Chinese Exclusion Act
As I was walking down the trial to the west, the wagon in front of me started talking to each other, as if somthing big was happining and so I asked them what's wrong and they said," A new act has passed saying that all chinese immigrants can't come to this country anymore, and the ones that are already in, they have to pay more for taxes." that, to me, was shocking. What was going through thier mind? To ban all chinese immigrants from coming to america? Though this didnt affect me, I was mad.
  • New Job in the West

    New Job in the West
5 months after them announcing the chinese exclusion bill or act as they call it, we reached the west, and I started my new life in the west. the first thing I did was try to get job, and the first one i found was in the newspaper saying that they accepted all people looking for work, and by that point I was already half way to the office, but once I reached the office, there was a line a mile long.I waited my turn and once I reached the front the man asked the same questions and then let me in.

Got a farm, and a Wife.
Once working at my job for 2 whole months, I acquired enough money to buy a farm and some land, so I bought that immidiately and then the next day woman who I was working with at my job asked me out on a date. though I didnt plan it out we went to a retaruant and had dinner together. this went on for a few weeks until...

    Oh no....Yay! Wait, Maybe......
Oh no... I've just found out that my wife is pregnant with one boy and one girl so I've made preperations, I've bought some baby food and made a set of cribs from wood. Though I've had no experience, as a kid I remember I had some toys that I used to love and so I've made some toys out of more wood and some materials I've bought from the general store in downtown.I guess I'm just more scared of what they will grow up to be mostly and I'm glad im gonna have some children!

It's finally the day where I'm the most worried and the most happy, the day where my children are born! We've decided to name them Jack and Jill after margret's and my favorite nursery ryhme of Jack and Jill. We are both relieved to have gone down this path, and about a month ago I wasn't sure but now I am,
  • Saying goodbye to great neighbors.

    Saying goodbye to great neighbors.
All beccause of that darn act, the chinese exclusion act, this is what madee this happen. Today, that darn thing caused some of my best friends and closest nieghbors to move out and find a new place to stay becuase they had no money to pay the rent on thier land and thier farm. They were three familes of chinese origin that I got to know very well. Now as The kids,Margret andI watched they left over the sunny horizon. With all that land freed up, i could now purchase it from all the money we made.
  • Family all grown up, im too old.

Family all grown up, im too old.
Though I'm still able to walk, I collapsed on my farm today and my son and daughter had to help me get up, though they are 20 and still young I allowed them to take over responsibilities for the entire farm. my wife and I agreed that we should use a money cashe that we started buliding up to save for a retirement home to use that money now.
  • Margret passed away today.

    Margret passed away today.
Today, Margret turned 70 and she then passed while I was asleep, I still can't forgive myself for not being there, my son and daughter were there and they told me that her last words were to tell me good bye and that she loved me and the boys very much. I just wanted to tell her how much I loved her, and to say goodbye, just one last time.
  • Im gone.

    Im gone.
Note found on bed: "This is my final will for my children to find and read aloud, I was Johnny MCallin, an irish man from my homeland of Ireland and when I was ten my mother and father were in a carcrash that ended thier lives, but at the same time, this also started my story...."
