The potato famine has taken the lives of both my brothers, and now my father has fallen ill. My mother said if I want any hope of making any profit or just living through the year, I should travel to America. I set off with the clothes on my back and one gold coin, so I didn't have much to lose. I was able to sneak on board a leaving vessel for America. I was almost caught, and I had to stay on the lowest decks, catching mice and rats for my survival. America had better be worth it.

    Work
Took me long enough, but I finnaly found myself some work for a relatively decent pay. Unfortunately, all of the smoke from the iron smelting is aggravating my lungs. I hope to find something better to do soon.

    Lost gold coin and job
One of my co-workers in smelting has been taunting and threatening my for the past few weeks, and he finnaly took it too far when he plucked my most prized possion off me and "accidently" dropped it in a smelter. I, of course, attacked, and we fought until our boss fired the both of us.
  • Stole horse and ran

    Stole horse and ran
After getting myself completley drunk, I attacked a policeman, stole his gun, ran to my old boss's house, fired a few shots into his windows, then stole his horse. Feeling like I didn't have anything to lose, I traveled West, in search of new adventure and discovery.
  • Ambush by Natives

    Ambush by Natives
After traveling and exploring the west for four years (with my stolen horse and gun) I finnaly made it to the West Coast. I was near the beach, admiring the view, when before I knew what was happening an arrow flew from nowhere and hit me square in the knee, and I toppled awkwardly off my horse. The horse, terrified, ran off, and I never saw it again. I knew the arrow was not a stray, so I smahed my gun on a nearby rock instead of losing my life. Within five seconds I was surrounded by Natives.

Lived with Natives for the rest of his life
After proving I meant them no harm (they should have done the same), they accepted my surrender. After reconizing that I was in terrible agony, they took me in to their village for a few days to nurse me back to health. I still didn't have proper use of my right leg, and they really were nice people, so they decided to let me stay. I later learned that they were the Chinook Tribe.I lived with the Natives for the rest of my life, and never again did they wrong me, or did I wrong them.
