The Move to America

Hello, i am a 16 year old girl and my name is Lucy Muler. I am moving to America because of the awfull potato famine we have here in Italy. All the potatos are gone and ruiend! Also most of my family moved to America about 2 years ago because they wanted more land to farm. I am gona bring potato seeds to farm and a bible becasue i want to learn how to be Christian.

New Job

I have finally for a job that suits me. I am a farmer in Pennsylvania getting about 6 dollars a day. This helps me make money for my future family and helping my papa live in his house.

Seeking a New Job

I have succsefully made it threw America but unfortunately my brother didn't. They noticed that he was very sick. I am still terrified that he didnt come threw i was crying for weeks. Now that i have forgotton about my brother, (somethimes) i desperatly need a job, so i have been searching for a farming job to take help my papa get money.

Moving Time

I have finaly made enough money to move to Oregon to live with my whole family. There i can live a new life and better yet i can learn to be Christian.

Native Americans

About a year later after i got to Oregon, the Native Americans found out that we are christians so they burned down out house and stole everything we had including our money. Now i have to get another job to support my family.

Wedding

May 2, 1865

This day is very important to me becasue i am getting married to one of the greatest people in my life. Rorey Mullen is the person i am giving my life to. He is a missionary that works for my father. I am here on out called Lucy Mullens.

Baby Boy

Jun 20, 1866

On the day of Monday June, 20th 1866 my son Niall Mullens was born. My whole family celebrated with a dinner and presents. I had always wanted a baby boyand of course more people in my family.

Worst Day of my Life

Dec 4, 1876

Today, my husband died of having consumption. and i might have it too becasuse it is very contagious. My son was only ten and very upset. This is the most he has ever cried in her life. All i want now is to give my son a healthy life until my time is up.

My Older Brother

Feb 19, 1886

My brother got out of immagration becasue they passed the law called the homestead act. This act means that the government would give about 160 achers of land to people that would look after land for 5 years. This was a great oppertunity because he loves cropping and harvesting land. I hope the best for my big brother.

Going on a Trip

I was really missing my brother so i went to go visit him in Oklahoma. I am getting really old so i said why dont i go see him one last time. After my Papa passed he has been my only faimly besides my son but he got a job offer in California as a Missionary.

My Death

Oct 19, 1914

They day i died was the most painfull day of my life becasue i died of the contagious disease cholera. My son and Brother both gave me a proper memorial and both wished me a better life in heaven. I will sure miss them expecially my son who is only 38. I wish my brother and son to have a wnderfull life.
