U.S. Census Population Reaches 31.4 million
When I found out that our population reached 31.4 million I wasn't that astounded. I was living in the slum at that time and I belived that we had a population of that size, all the morre reason to move West. -
Homestead Act Signed By Licoln
I wanted farmland in the West. The Homestead act would enable me leave earier so i could stay on the land for 5 years so it would be mine. Before I cna do this I have to get my resources from selling my silver. -
Lincoln's Assasination
After I heard abou Licoln's assasination I was shocked. Licoln was such a good president and I couldn't understand why some one would try to kill him. It was weird thinking that some one hated Lincoln so much that they would want to kill him. I wanted to do something about it but I knew I couldn't do anything about it. -
The Fourteenth Amendment is ratified
When the 14th admendment was ratified I was overwelmed with joy. This would finally let African Americans to vote. With these new voters the elections will be much closer. This will also made it to where the U.S. is finally free and everyone is treated equally. -
Population reaches 39 million
39 million people living in the U.S. forced me to to sell my silver and buy my resources. Every now and then I will go to the outskirts of town and just watch the covered wagons leaving to get their farmland.I knew that one day I would be doing the same. -
Battle of Little Bighorn Ends
The promised land is finally free from war. Sure we lost the battle but at least now I know that the Western territory is free from war. Native Americans are still out there so I will have to be careful but there will be no raging war going on. -
Northern Pacific transcontinental railroad is completed
The railrod is complete! i would finally be able to move West faster. I had my supplies and just enough money for a train ticket and I knew I needed to fulfill my dreams. -
The Spanish-American War begins
After hear that another War had begun I had my fears. I feared of leaving the peaceful farm and not returning. I also feared that if I died on the battle field or in the water my body wouldn't be found. I knew though that if I was drafted then I would be serving my great country that I came to in search of a new life. -
U.S. population reaches 85 million
By now I had quite a few neighbors. Our population was at 85 million. This was believable becaus eof the amount of wagon horses comming through my little neighborhood. Their were few cars that came trough the neighborhood but it was still believable that our population was so great. -
World War I begins
When I heard soldiers were wanted for World War 1 I couldn't resist. I emidietly enrolled in the air force and waited for my call to duty. I was ready to leave the farm life and see some action. It was time that I serve my new country.
