Immigration and Moving West -
Why I came to America
My name is Bananan Sudlouski. My town is in ruins people have come through burning are houses. Thankfully my house and a few others escaped the blaze. I have now sold my house and have decided to head to America. I bring only what I can carry, good bye Russia. -
Going through Immigration
Ellis island was very crowded took six hours to get through immigration. Many people were detained for medical or legal reasons. Also i purchased a sandwiche at the concession stand. -
Finding Work
Found work in a glass factory with bad working conditions and low pay. There are a couple other immigrants to talk with. I will move west as soon as I have enough money. -
THe Home Stead act
Word has has reached my ear of an act that grants a free quarter acor of land for anyone who will farm it. I have know decided to Strike out west for my land. I am very greatfull because this act has changed my Immigrant experience. -
Getting Suplies
I traded my bowls and plates for a horse some trail food. ALso i bought a hoe and some other tools for farming. -
Moving West
I have decided to move west. The factory conditions have worserned and the pay is at an all time low. Also the rent on my room is increasing and recently a man tried to rob me. I have already got the Suplies and a horse all I need to do now is find a wagon train. -
Trail West
Life Is hard on the trail west. Just Recently we had to fight off some bandits that were terorizing some people. Stil though the promise of land is great. I'm lucky I'm just taking a horse many people who took wagons have broken wheels or have had them sink in rivers. -
Race For land
In the race for land many people lost their wagons and a lot of their possesions. Luckly I was on a single horse and managed to clinch a fertile peice of land. -
Starting The farm
Built a house and a pig pen then I headed to the nearest town where I bought some grain two pigs and for chickens. Then I came home aand settled into my knew life. -
My American Experince
My experiecne has been quite diverse. At first I thought America was a place where you could go from Rags to Riches. Then I found that most peoplle were poor. After that I decided to head west and get some land. It sounded fairly easy at first but when I saw people crash in the race for land I realized I was Lucky to get Same land at all. This has been my American experience
