Intro/ Push factors for coming to America
Hello, my name is Neila Horan and i am from Ireand. The push factors of immagrating from Ireland to America is the ammount of easily accepted to jobs like sweat shops, another push factor is more and more people are leaving Ireland to come to America so you would be just like everyone else. My last push factor is that you can get a fair amount of money from working in sweat shops and other excessible jobs. One of the pull factors are that you were raised there and that is your home.

    1st Experience in America
8 days after my brother and I got off the boat and passed the inspections we got settled in a little apartment our cousin showed us who had already moved out here months ago. That was the day one of the worst things happened, I lost my golden locket that my mother and father gave me which was the only thing I had left from them.

    2nd Experience in America
When my brother and I got to America I was around 15 and he was 18. Our parents refused to come; they think that they would miss Ireland so much even if it did have the Potato Famine a few years back. The first jobs we applied for were sweat shops and they gladly accepted us.

Now that my brother and I were working in a sweat shop we could finally get money and move to the west and have our own plot of land, the average amount of money one person made per day was 3-4 dollars so my brother and I had about 8 dollars a day. So at the end of the week we had roughly 56 dollars.

Push and pull factors for moving west
Some of the push factors to move to the west are that you would have a much bigger plot of land. Another push factor is there would be better jobs like ranchers and farmers instead of working in sweat shops. My last push factor is that you could have a real house instead of just a tiny little apartment. Some of the pull factors is you have a stable job and you have an apartment you can afford.

When we finally made it to the west my brother and I got one of the biggest plots of land I’ve ever seen! It must have been 2-3 acres. It even had a farm with a few pigs, horses, and chickens! This was absolutely perfect because I loved to cook and my brother was an excellent warmer back in Ireland.

This was the perfect job for me because i have already worked as a nurse in Ireland.

When my brother and I went to the city he did not find any jobs that appealed to him. So he figured he would take care of the farm till he found another job. It's been at least 2 months since he said that and he's still working the farm. He says it's his favorite thing in the world to do and I think that's wonderful.
