Immagration and westward expansion Timeline

  • Moving to America

Wanted to come to America because both of my parents died from disease and I could not keep up with the rent. All of the crops that i grew on my small farm was not enough money to live nicely. I was very stressed. And I also was very interested into traveling and was curious.I was a farmer for hops to make beer but since my brother ran away at a small age and my mom and dad have died I have no reason to stay in this boring country.

    Immigration and Living in America

There were many tough time moving to a different country, finding a different job, and finding love on the way.
  • Ellis Island

When I first arrived from Ireland, there were many, many people. I had never seen that many different people yelling and trying to sell me stuff. Many of those kids that lived there are very talented at stealing becasue somebody said that a little boy pick-pocketed me and stole my dad's watch. Without me even knowing.
  • The beating

Walking home from a long day of polishing shoes that would be giving me a wage of next to nothing. I had never fought before and was not very good at it, that's why I did not get myself involed with the foolish actions of betting on eachother in bars to see who wins. I saw a couple of drunk Italians that looked and smelt a little more wealthy than i was, walking down the street. One tall one sucker punched me in the stomach after arguing for a while and then got me on the ground and kicked me.
  • Marrige

I married the girl named Alice Tamer on a sunny august day. my parents were not alive to see me marry a girl which really hurt me. She was the girl that interupted the fight by the Italians and saved my life.
  • New Job

After begging for a job for packaging frozen vegetables into cans I found out that the little wages were not worthy for the hard working, long hours of being yelled at. I was very discriminated from the boss becasue I was Irish.
  • Moving to west

Moved to the west with my wife and found 160 acres of land in Oaklahoma. There were many people and changes that I had to made, I had to get a horse and I had to take up more shifts in the night to have the money to be able to move to the west.
