  • Chapter One

    Lily is on board the Sabrina with the Dorsets. She's hitting it off with everyone in Europe.
  • Chapter Two

    George Dorset is upset upon his discovery that his wife Bertha was out all night with Ned. Lily defends Bertha, only to be stabbed in the back when Bertha blames her for everything that's going wrong.
  • Chapter Three

    At a dinner party, Bertha throws Lily under the bus by publicly announcing that she won't be returning to the yacht.
  • Chapter Four

    Lily returns to New York. Her aunt Peniston has passed away and Lily is shocked to discover that she only inherited $10,000 from her.
  • Chapter Five

    After talking with Mrs. Fisher, Lily determines that the best way for her to get money and regain both her former social status is to marry Rosedale.
  • Chapter Six

    Lily is avoiding George who is still asking questions regarding what Lily knows about his wife's affair. She refuses to give him information.
  • Chapter Seven

    Lily talks to Rosedale and attempts to convince him to marry her. But Rosedale wants a wife who will keep him in the socially elite crowd, which Lily can no longer do.
  • Chapter Eight

    Gerty convinces Selden to go talk to Lily and tell her that she can live a full and happy life without spending massive amounts of money.
  • Chapter Nine

    Selden fails to convince Lily to allow Gerty to help her get back on her feet and help her live a more minimalistic lifestyle.
  • Chapter Ten

    Lily gets to experience what it's like to be part of the working class, and she obviously doesn't fit in. She also goes to the drug store and picks up a prescription of Chloral (sleeping medication) that was meant for her aunt when she was alive.
  • Chapter Eleven

    Rosedale offers to marry Lily if she'll make up with Bertha Dorset. But Lily refuses.
  • Chapter Twelve

    Lily goes to Selden's to see if he still loves her. She finds out that he does not, or at least he's not interested in marriage.
  • Chapter Thirteen

    Lily finally receives her $10,000 inheritance. She writes a check to Gus Trenor for $9,000 which would pay off her entire debt to him. She takes a little over the maximum dose of the sleeping medication that night and falls asleep.
  • Chapter Fourteen

    Lily is found dead in her bed the next morning. Selden reflects on this and realizes that it was most likely fate that kept them apart for all these years.
