  • China Environment

    The chinese farmed rice and grains, they used plows to dig up the fertil soil and harvested the rice by hand. The chinese also mined lots of raw material such as silver, it also helped with the driving of the economics. They used their livestock to help them harvest the crops and to move it from point A to point B
  • China Economic

    The silk road opened up china to trade with the middle east and the eastern mediterranean. The silk that china produced was in demand and this made the chinese very rich. They also traded grains such as rice and raw materials.
  • China Social

    The silk road connected china with other people from different lands to trade their silk and different raw materials with. Many chinese merchants traveled to the middle east and beyond trading their goods bringing back ideas and customs from other cultures along with them. The writing of confucious spread throughout china and many people changed their views on the world.

    China was ruled by dynasties, rulers from the same family, this is how chinese history is divided up. Many Dynasties lasted for more than 100 years but only a few lasted over 300 or 400. Women helped insure that dynasties would continue because many of them were married to the king, but many dynasties were overthrown.
  • China Cultural

    Worshipped their ancestors and paid tributes to their holidays and other events. The king was seen as a living god and was worshipped like one. They were very closed minded to the rest of the world until the silk road opened up.
  • Indus Valley (India) Social

    The class structure started with the Brahmins (Priests), Kshatriyas (Warriors and rulers), Viasyas (Traders, Merchants, and minor officals), Sudras (Unskilled workers), Pariah ( Untouchable, Children of god). Their race where indian. Men worked within their designated caste social class, Women were valued because of their ability to produce offspring and nurse. The Women would take care of the family until the children would grow old enough then they would take the roles of the parents.

    They spoke the Harappan language. The Inuds vallet people would use scripts to talk write to others. Indus people kept cattle, pigs, sheep and goats for food, farmers grew fruit such as dates, grapes and melons, and field crops such as wheat and peas. They would wear clothes made of silk and cotton.The Indus civilization produced many statuettes made of steatite and limestone

    Other trade technologies such as boats and carts were employed to facilitate trade. They lived in a very dry and sunny climate. Natural barriers include high mountains and hot desserts which made others not want to invade them.Their natural resources where good soil fromn the river that ran right through the indus valley. They would settle around the rivers for the good farming lands.

    People gathered in the colusium to watch gladiators fight or do chariot races, they were also given free bread while they watched. People also gathered in public bath houses to bathe and sit together and talk for a long time. They also had parades and celebrations for their emperors birthday and other important dates on the roman calender
  • Rome Environment

    The romans used their provineces to grow food and mine raw materials. The romans in italy grew grapes and produce wine, they also produced textiles and olives. They also traded salt from the middle east and this made rome very profitable.
  • Rome Economic

    The romans had their own system of money which made trade, payment, and taz collecting easier. They traded raw materials, cloth, slaves, and coins with the middle east africa and india. The roman military conquered much of the world and loot a lot of cities and villages along the way so these riches help make the roman state very rich in the process.

    Rome started out as a republic with a senate that was mostly ruled by the upper class. Juliues Ceaser took control of the roman senate in 49 BC turning it into an empire. The last emperor of the western empire fell in the early 5th century, the last real emperor fell in 1453 with the capture of the Byzantine Empire by the ottomans.

    The class stucture went from Pharoah, government officals, soilders, scribes, merchants, craftsman, peasants, then slaves. Women bore and raised children and were responsible for the familiar, domestic relationships, while men taught their growing up boys their own trade and related to society at large. They where also a white race. Familes where raised by the women.

    They would write using hieroglyphics.The poorest people ate a healthy diet of fruits and vegetables. The rich ate meat of many kinds, mostly cows and sheep. The mother would care for the children until 4 then their father would take over for the education. They did not wear very many clothing. They built pyramids and ziggurats.

    Climate in egypt was very hot and sunny. Natural resources would be fertile land from te nile river. Natural barriers where very similair to indias barriers, they had very hot and sunny deserts. If a pharoah would die they would be wrapped up as a mummy and would be buried under a pyramind.

  • Mesopotamia Social

    The structure of their classes starts at the top with a king, then nobles and high priests, then officals and scribes, then craftsmen, and finally servents and peasants. The roles of Women would be; Wives, Mothers, HouseKeepers, Making clothes, tending to their husband. While the Men; Kings, Rule-Makers, Farmers, Fathers, Warriors and Builders. Family was a very important but basic unit of mesopotamia. They where a white race. The higher class the person the more rights they had.

    They invented the first type of writing, the pictograph. Mesopotamia had a warm wet climate. They had two rivers rand they stood right inbetween them. They had plenty of water from the two rivers that flowed right by them. They settled around the rivers so that they could farm and use it for many different things. Mesopotamian diesease where blamed on spirits and gods.

  • Greece Environment

    Greece was mountaines and the greeks grew olives and grain. They used the terrain to their advantage in war and trade. They built their cities on hills so that they would be more difficult to invade then a war would happen.

    Greece was divided up into city states and its surrounding areas were states with their own governments. Sparta and athens were the two big city states at the time, Sparta was a military state and athens was more about learning and enlightenment. Alexander the great conqured much of the world from greece and greek style spread around the middle east and northen africa.
  • Greece Cultural

    Sparta was a military state and boys were trained to be soilders from the time they were young. The youth of athens attended school and listened to teachings from philosophers such as aristotle, plato, and socrates. Homer wrote the epic about the trojan war, it disccused about the trojan horse.

    One of the big events at the time was the olympic games, people went to the event to watch athletes. People listened to the teaching of aristotle, plato, and socrates in the schools of greece. The library of alexandria was one of the biggest place for knowledge in the ancient world, many scholars would travel to see it.

    The Greeks grew and traded grain and olives through the mediterranean. Alexander the great expanded greek trade and Architecture through north africa and the middle east. They also made weapons and traded weapons because of all the wars.

    Greece rose in 7000 BC
