    Chinese Dynasties
    A Dynasty is a series of rulers from the same family. The Chinese Dynasties begin with the Shang Dynasty. His family continued to rule decades after him, until the Chou Dynasty formed. The dynasties remained like this for centuries and centuries. Some of them, like the Chou and the Ming dynasty remained for centuries, while others, like the Chin and Sui dynasty ended after a few decades.

    The second Opium War was called the Arrow War. It was when European powers and the United States tried to renegotiate the commercial treaties with China. But the government refused these requests so a war broke out.

    the Opium War started when the British were illegally exporting Opium from India to China, Pearl River. The Opium War arose From China's attempt to hide the Opium trade. The Opium was becoming to addictive, and in March 1839 the Opium was destroyed and that is how the Opium War started.

    When they were having the I Opium War, China decided they had to stop fighting so they told the British that they would give them HK Island if they stopped having a War. The British thought that was unfair because HK island was not a really nice place at that time. But they still agreed but they still wanted more. So when the II Opium War broke out, the Chinese ceded the Kowloon Peninsula.

    The Japanese Occupation began when Sir Mark Young, the Governor of HK surrendered the British Crown Colony to the Japanese. The surrender took place after 18 days of fierce fighting against the strong Japanese forces that had invaded the territory. The Japanese occupied HK for 3 years and 8 months until they surrendered at the end of the second WW.
