    Battle between King Harold (King of England at the time) and William of Normandy for the throne. William of Normandy won and became king and King Harold was killed. It was important because it was the end of the Norman rule in England. French became the official language. The French and Anglo-Saxon language formed the basis of the English language we use today.

    The Domesday book was a survey created for King William to see what everyone in England owned for tax purposes. It is important because it’s a view into the 11th centuries social and economic properties.

    Yoritomo founded the first military government in Japan. Yoritomo’s government reigned from 1185 to 1330 and was known as the Kamakura Shogunate. He died in 1199. He was important because he was the first shogun.

    On September 2nd 1348, King Edwards favourite daughter, Joan Plantagenet passed away from the plague. This event was important because Joan Plantagenet was the first royal to die from the plague, proving that not even the most important people were safe from this monstrosity.

    Toyotomi Hideyoshi conquers all of Japan
    Toyotomi unified Japan. He conquered Shikoku and Kyushu. He was important because in the 16th century, he completed the countries military unification.

    Great Fire of London kills most of the infected rats and fleas which carried the plague.
    The Great Fire of London burnt down over 300 houses. It started on September 2nd and by September 4th half on London was in flames.This event is important because although it burnt down half of London, it also got rid of most of the animals carrying the plague. I believe this was the most important event during this period as it helped slow down the spread of the Black Death, lowering the death count and saving more lives.
