This is a series of wars in which King Sigfrid was forced to grant independence to a number of counties, in order to reconquer them one by one. The first one was agasint Westmorland (879-880), then Cumberland fell in 881.

After the conclusion of Gerdr's war, Porgil was forced to give his wife to Sigrid who then executed her.

Sigfrid dies at the age of 56, a natural death. Thanks to his fathers many affairs many considered his rule illigenimate. He spent most of his 24 year reuniting Jorvik, and putting down rebellions. He did however spent the years not fighting his subjects building the economy and expanding the kingdom. King Halfdan II takes his place.
