High School Recollections

  • High School Starts

    Yay, it's the start of my journey.

  • I meet a bunch of new people, some from other middle schools that I didn't attend.

    Freshman Year

  • I join my main friend group, one that I stay in for the rest of high school

    It's actually pretty near Mrs. Ene's classroom,

  • I start playing League of Legends

    For better or for worse, it was around this time that I started playing League. Out of every video game, I have invested the most amount of time into this,

  • My middle school friends and I start hanging out less and less.

    There wasn't bad blood or anything, but we started to just talk less and interact less as we found new people.

  • I join the badminton team as a freshman.

    First year of the badminton team. It was a pretty fun experience, although I did not actually get any competing time, it was still exciting to support my team.

  • I take a cruise with my family during the wintertime.

    We go on Princess Cruises, and I meet a lot of different people. This was the first time I actually realized that there were not as many Asians as I thought in the U.S.

  • My family and I go sightseeing in China.

    We go to Beijing and Hong Kong, both to visit relatives and to check out some famous landmarks. The great wall of China, in my opinion, is better viewed on Google Images.

  • I meet Carl for the first time.

    Someone I really look up to, I actually met him when going to Lasertag.

    Sophomore Year

  • I start getting into anime and manga.

    The other of my 2 favorite hobbies, I occasionally read manga, but it was around this time that I really got into it.

  • We visit our relatives in Taiwan

    The relatives on my mother's side this time, I meet my uncle and aunt for the first time in 5 years.

  • I go to my first anime gathering.

    It is in downtown San Jose, and I had a great time. I was able to meet tons of new people.

  • I attend my first League of Legends tournament.

    I got together with some members in Cupertino, and we had a lot of fun! There were a few disagreements here and there, but overall I enjoyed it.

  • I attend Orenda Academy, a class that changed my life.

    Led by Carl, I attended a 10 week camp that helped me formulate better life goals and achieve a new perspective.

    Junior Year

  • Vacation in Canada

    We visit a lot of different places, most notably Banff being my favorite.

  • I discover a passion in model-building in Akamichi's art class.

    This is outside of Lynbrook, an art camp that I really enjoyed, honestly more than I expected.

  • I attempt to increase my social circle.

    By the time I develop the desire to actually break out of my shell, it is already too late. I do start using social media to communicate more, though, which does help.

  • I shoutcast my first League competition.

    It was completely unofficial, but very fun nevertheless.

  • I go on a trip with some friends to L.A.

    Me and a couple of high school buddies go to L.A. I really liked the different culture there, even though it is still in-state.

    Senior Year

  • I am about to graduate from high school.

    It is the end of an era for me, and I am excited to see what will happen with my life.
