My Sister's Birth
If I wasn't for my sister I wouldn't be the person I am today. Because of her, I am a social person who is always thriving to be on top. Me being the older sibling I am I get no attention. So she made me the overachiever I am. Always trying to do something to impress everyone. -
First Time Skiing
If I wasn't for skiing I wouldn't be where I am today. This experience taught me to never give up, and get back up. Life will have challenges but it's all overcomable over time. -
St. James Park Revitalization
Growing up with parents who owned their own small business I had seen a lot. Got to go to job sites, sit and wait for my dad after long days in the office. But I never really appreciated everything they did until my dad came up with the idea to revitalize St. James Park in downtown Toronto. He had an idea and followed through. Every year we go back and help, and it really gave me liking for the industry. It also sparked my possible career choices I have now. -
Grade 6 Math
Being part of this math class really gave me my love for math. Grade 6 I was in a split class, so I would teach myself. Doing this allowed me to love numbers. Without that math class I would've hated math all my life, but now I love it and it makes me the person I am. -
Leadership Camp
All of my life I've always seen myself as a leader. Someone who likes to take charge in a situation. Over the summer one of my teachers recommended I should go to this camp, and I'm so glad she did. Over one week I made great friends, learned lots about myself and made myself a better person. This camp helped shaped me today, and now I'm a stronger leader. -
Grade 8 Valedictorian
Joel and I presenting our speech (secondary)All my life I’ve been a stellar student, my teacher’s gave me awards but I never felt like I made my mark, changed my life. Then when my class nominated me I finally felt like I had accomplished something big. This was something I really worked for and I tried hard for. For once everything I was doing was making me go farther in life. -
Grade 8 Graduation
For 9 years I took this community of people for granted. But it helped me grow to the person I am today. They taught me how to believe in myself, how to be the best leader possible, and to never give up. I grew greatly as a person and this was my time to start my next chapter. This was just a time for me to use everything they taught me and apply it to a new world. This event was very nessesary for me, and I don't now where I'd be it I hadn't taken the path I did. -
First Day of High School
The first day oh boy. Growing up in the country I went to a small school with max 400 students at a time. At my previous school, you knew everyone and everyone knew you. But on my first day, everything was going to change. I had no class with any of my friends so I was extremely nervous. I had also never seen inside the school and was extremely nervous I wouldn’t find my way around. This was my first day of the real world. But this day made me a stronger person. -
Making Hayden Field Hockey Team
All of my life I never been part of a real team. Always small teams but nothing to the scale of this. Joining a team helped me become a better person in a team. It also allowed me to meet life long friends. -
My First Job
For me this event was a huge deal. It was the first time I had ever made a resume, filled out contracts and went to staff meetings! I had never been part of the real work world before this. Getting a job as a ski instructor has taught me a ton about myself, and kids. I love the connections I've made and this was my best decision I ever made!
