    In 1884 Karl Peters a German adventurer signed treaties with local rulers on the east coast of Africa.

    Karl Peters went to Germany to claim East Africa territory. As a result Bismark accepted Karl Peters treaties and it was officialy called German East Africa.

    The German East Africa Company did not do so well. It caused local revolts and all the wquipment got destroyed so the goverment had to take over.
