  • 4.3: Language

My native language is English. I spoke my first word when I was two years old and as my mother loves to talk about my first word was "no" This was my first language/word because my mother spoke only English around me my whole life and as she says she had to tell me "no" very often so its the first thing I picked up.
  • 4.1: My First Memory

When I was three I distinctly remember my mom telling me that the next day, I would not be eating lunch at home. I would be eating it at a day care where many other kids would be and I could play. I remember sitting in my chair at the dinner table and watching her wash dished on the right of me while she talked. I was deviated and cried for hours. I don't remember what happened or before probably due to infantile amnesia. It was a traumatic experience for me no matter how small
  • 3.1 my health

This may sound like a total cop-out but after discussing with my family I have realized I haven't not faced any substantial illnesses disease. My nutrition growing up was very good due to my mom and I have been extremely lucky to have been healthy up until this point. All I can do now is work on prevention of future issues and thank my lucky stars for my good fortune so far.
  • 3.2 Older Adult Health

When I was about ten years old my great grandmother acquired dementia. She was 70 and she came to live with my mom and I because she could not live on her own. She had experienced trauma ( a fire where she lost a daughter) Often she would think she was in this day and panic. It was very sad to watch her slowly forget all of us. Were were told there was no treatment.
  • 4.2: Intelligence

Out of Gardner's eight kinds of intelligence the one I feel I excel at is visual-spatial. I first started noticing this in high school when I could remember easily faces, text, colors, surroundings and so on with ease.
  • 4.3b: Language 2

My second language is ASL. The first sign I learned was "again" when I took my first ASL class. I learned ASL to become more close to my best friends new Deaf girlfriend so I could understand her better. He had dated her since we were 13 and I wanted to make her feel more included when we hung out. It turned out I loved ASL and eventually transferred to Gally.
  • 1.1

My name is Gabrielle but I prefer being refereed to by my middle name, Noel. I am personally not a very social being. I think my psychological age would be about 25 although I am 21. I will graduate hopefully next year along lines with normative age-graded influences. an example of a non-normative life event that has happened in my life is my recent trip to Europe.
  • 2.1 "Fertility"

My partner and I are having trouble trying to get pregnant. Recently discovered fertilization is being compromised by a gene that runs in my family. The gene is not dominant but because both my mother and father carried this recessive gene, it appeared in my code. Due to sex-linked genes is likely to get it because he will be male. Next week we have a meeting with genetic councilor to get advise. If conception doesn't work we will consider adoption.
