    A fortress and prison called the Bastille, a icon of terror to all, was stormed by many angry people who wanted change. It ended by demolishing the building brick by brick.
  • Great Fear

    Peasants attacked the nobles because they were afraid of the nobles attacking them. They burned many houses and armed themselves.
  • Declartion of Rights of Man

    The fundamental document of the Revolution that ensured the individual rights of the estates.
  • Women March to Versaille

    Women march to Versaille in order to contest outrageously high bread prices and the scarcity of grain.
  • Louis and Marie's Flight to Varennes

    The king and his wife Marie try to flee from Paris and take refuge with allies but are caught and brought back under guard.
  • Constitution of 1791

    In this document they tried to establish Constitutionality and the idea of Popular Sovreignty, this document was very short lived.

    This event was pivotal for the French Revolution. When the members of the third estate were locked out of a meeting, They assembled inside a tennis court/ handball court, and pledged themselves not to leave until they had new rights.

    The Duke of Brunswick proclaimed to the people of Paris, that if the royal family were to be hurt, then they would be harmed as well.

    Napoleon's army is defeated by the seventh coalition.

    Napoleon is exiled yet again, this time though to St. Helena so he could not return.
