  • Assembly Of The Three Estates

    Facing crippling debt, the monarch of France, King Louis XVI assembles the Three Estates. Louis wishes to raise the taxes on the citizens of France, but law states that he can only do so with the approval of the Three Estates. However, what Louis did not predict was that the First Estate and the Second Estate would vote to only raise taxes on the Third Estate. This angers members of the Third Estate, who represent over 95 percent of the French population.
  • Declaration of the Rights Of Women and the Female Citizen

    The Declaration of the Rights Of Women and the Female Citizen was published on September 15, 1791 and was written by Olympe de Gouges. This was published so that women can be included in the assembly. Women can participate in all levels of the government and the right to have opinions in public. They were trying to get to women to be more involved in everything.
  • France and Austria War

    France declared war on Austria on April 20, 1792 and the republicans won the war. Prussia got involved and joined Austria's side. The troops didn't have good equipment and was a disaster for the French Forces. They thought the war would unify the country.

    September Massacres was from September 2 - September 7, 1792 and was a wave of killing and was during the French Revolution. It showed how angry people were. The reason of this Massacre was that the people thought the Austrians would release prisoners who would come to them for revenge.
  • The War in the vendee

    The War in the vendee was a revolution from 1793- 1796 and was during the French Revolution. It began in the West of France and was the first modern war that even included women/ men and children. It had some success but later on the government crushed it in 1793.
  • Maximilien Robespierre

    Robespierre took over the government on September 5, 1793 and July 27, 1794. He began accusing people who's beliefs were traditional. Robespierre instituted Reign of Terror and participated in writing the declaration of the rights of man and citizen. He and many others got arrested and executed by the National convention.

    The War of the First Coalition were many wars that the Europeans fought between 1792- 1797. France won the war of the First Coalition. Many small states joined the war such as Spain and Portugal. The outbreak of the French Revolution caused the War. It took place from April 20, 1792- October 18, 1797.
  • War of the second Coalition

    The War of the second Coalition was from November 29, 1798 to March 25, 1802. It was located in Europe and was formed by French soldiers. It was led by Britain, Austria and Russia. Their goal was to extend the chaos from France.
  • The Concordat of 1801

    The Concordat of 1801 was an agreement between Napoleon and Pope Pius V||. It was signed on July 15, 1801. It was an agreement between most of the French church. The agreement kept the court in control.
  • Grand Empire

    Napoleon started the Grand empire on December 2, 1804. The 3 parts of the Grand Empire were the French Empire, the dependent states, and the allied states. Napoleon built his empire through the defeat of territories that belonged to their enemies.
  • Continental System

    The continental system began on November 21, 1806. The system banned British ships from entering European ports. The Portuguese had to join the Continental System and it was a policy against the United Kingdom during the Napoleon wars. The continental system was not that strong of a weapon for the war.

    The dos de Mayo was on May 2, 1808 and celebrates the uprising of the Madrid populace against Napoleons Army and French troops. It was located in Madrid and led to the Spanish war of independence.
  • French Invasion of Russia

    The French Invasion of Russia was from June 24, 1812 to December 1812. The Napoleons wanted Russia back in the Continental blockade. They crossed the NemanRiver to defeat the Russian army. It was also known as the Russian Campaign and the Second Polish war.
  • Battle of Paris

    During the French Revolution in 1814 March 30-31 the Battle of Paris fought. The Napoleons captured Paris in 1814 and was defeated by Emperor Napoleon. Treaty of Paris ended the war between France and the Sixth Coalition.
  • 100 Days

    100 Days
    The hundred days were a war during March 15, 1815 to July 8, 1815. Napoleon Bonaparte ruled 100 days from March 20- July 8. The hundred days were the time from Napoleons return from exile on Elba to defeat at Waterloo. It was also known as the Seventh Coalition.
  • The Battle of Waterloo

    The Battle of Waterloo was the final battle of the French Revolution and it was the last battle Napoleon Boneparte ever fought in. The Battle of Waterloo was fought in present day Belgium. Napoleon’s French forces were outnumbered by the combined armies of the English and the Prussians, led by British officer the Duke of Wellington. When Napoleon was defeated, the French throne was once again given to King Louis XVIII. Napoleon was exiled to an island named Saint Helena where he died.

    The Holy Alliance was created on September 26, 1815. Their goal was to guard the borders of Europe and to prevent the revolutionary influence. It was signed by the King of France Louis XV|||. It was created after the final defeat of Napoleon.
