  • Assembly of the Three Estates

    Assembly of the Three Estates
    Facing crippling debt, the monarch of France, King Louis XVI assembles the Three Estates. Louis wishes to raise the taxes on the citizens of France, but law states that he can only do so with the approval of the Three Estates. However, what Louis did not predict was that the First Estate and the Second Estate would vote to only raise taxes on the Third Estate. This angers members of the Third Estate, who represent over 95 percent of the French population.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    Members from the French Third Estate took an oath in the tennis court in the Versailles palace. The oath was "not to separate and to reassemble whenever necessary until the Constitution of the kingdom is established." Their main goal was to still have taxes but to split it evenly between the first and second estate. They wanted the king to notice what they are doing, and they didn't want to give up. Just to follow their rule and just pay all the taxes for the first and second estate.

    The Third Estate later on gathered in front of Bastille, were there was people representing the crowed in front of Bastille. Bastille was rumored to have weapons and gun powder for their revolution. They not only wanted to retrieve those weapons but to free political figures that were, opposed to the king. Eventually the crowed turned into a mod because of the crowed trying to gain entry of Bastille. The crowed suddenly turned into a mob due to soldiers shoot the crowed before entered Bastille.

    The Declaration of the Right of Man and Citizen
    The Declaration of the Right of Man and Citizen was basically people given civil rights to the people of France. The only people who were given civil rights are supposed to be only male and 25 years of age. If you are a female and a servant you weren't able to obtain the civil rights. Due to woman not being able to get civil rights they started a petition and showed it to the National assembly but since they were woman they were just ignored.

    The woman in Paris were outraged because of the price change in bread. The only reason the price of bread changed was because there was just so few of it. Rumors later on spread that the royals had a party that made them use most of the bread and that's why there is so few. Since the bread shortage people began to make a mob that surrounded the queen inside her palace. But with all the crowed surrounded the queen she came out to apologize for the bread shortage.
  • Civil Constitution of Clergy

    The Civil Constitution of Clergy was a law in France that caused subordination in the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church were to be confiscated and banned the Catholic Churches. So what basically happened is that the National Assembly basically took over the Catholic Church. So the French Monarchy was left make the laws.
  • King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette's attempt to escape

    In the middle of the night King Louis XVI and his family made an attempt to escape but they were spotted by Jean Baptiste. Jean Baptiste was able to recognize them by a portrait of themselves. Once they were captured they arrested him and put King Louis XVI for treason. Eventually the results in the trial put King Louis XVI in the state were he was found guilty, and was sentenced to be publicly executed. Later on nine months later King Louis XVI's wife Marie Antoinette was beheaded.

    Region of Terror

    There was a committee of public safety that ended up monarchy by abolished, and many people were being killed. Many people were being killed for rumors and for calling out people who don't support the revolution. A group of politicians decided to work together and to help fix what was wrong. The group of politicians fixed the inflation price of bread and set it back to it's past state. The politicians also at the same time adopted the first republic constitution of France.
  • Napoleons overthrow of the Five Man Directory

    The Five Man Directory used to governed France. As soon Napoleon came back from war two men offered Napoleon to help them overthrow the Five Man Directory. But in return they would offer him power in the next government. The reason Napoleon was able to overthrow the Five Man Directory because the Five Man Directory kept getting themselves into wars. Since the Five Man Directory kept going into wars which made France go into Financial problems. Napoleon's influence in the military helped him.

    Napoleon crowned himself Emperor
    Napoleon crowned himself and his wife Emperor of France. The only reason Napoleon did this was because he wanted to show people that he had power, and no one else can tell him what to do because he's in control. The way Napoleon and his wife made themselves Emperors by taking off the crown of the Pope, and put it on themselves. Napoleon changed monarchy but is using a new form of ruling that still keeps the same idea of the last monarchy.

    The people from Spain had a disagreement with Charles IV because they wanted Charles IV's son or Ferdinand VII to be the new king. Napoleon heard about what was going on in Spain so he had a plan to see if he can trick Charles IV into controlling Spain. So what Napoleon did to control Spain is by sending letters to Charles IV and Ferdinand VII inviting them into Bayonne. By doing this Napoleon trapped him into a room where he forced them to let him be King, or Napoleon would kill them both.

    Napoleon's marriage to Marie Louise
    Napoleon got married but later onto the marriage Napoleon wanted to have a child to be the next heir just in case of he passed. But they soon after realized that he was unable to have a child with his wife. The reason they weren't able to have a child was because of Napoleon's wife who was unfertile. So napoleon decided to have a divorce with his wife so he can get a wife that can make an Napoleon's heir. Later on causing him to marry Marie Louise. He didn't care about her but he wanted a child.

    French Invasion of Russia

    Napoleon's whole idea was to take over Russia with his army, and to free Portland from Russia. Even with Napoleon's war background Napoleon and his men did end up losing due to Napoleon not accounting for the cold weather, and the land. With the cold weather that made most of Napoleon's men slow down while trying to invade Russia. Due to the weather it cost most of Napoleon's men got hyperthermia. But Prussia and Austria formed a coalition against France, also leading to the fall of Paris.

    Napoleon's Hundred Days
    Napoleon got exiled into a island where he was sent alone to stay. With this happening King Louis XVIII was made king of France again since they got rid of Napoleon. He was sent to an island called Elba. Eventually Napoleon found a way where he can someone how leave the island and go back into France. Once Napoleon came back into France he gained some supporters from his military and was able to join in wars again. Due to the fight he was exiled once again to another island called St Helena.
  • The Battle of Waterloo

    The Battle of Waterloo
    The Battle of Waterloo was the final battle of the French Revolution and it was the last battle Napoleon Boneparte ever fought in. The Battle of Waterloo was fought in present day Belgium. Napoleon’s was outnumbered by the combined armies of the English and the Prussians, led by British officer the Duke of Wellington. Napoleon was defeated, the French throne was once again given to King Louis XVIII. Napoleon was exiled to an island named Saint Helena where he died.
