  • May 5, 1789 Meeting with Estates-General

    This is a meeting between the 3 Estates. The third estate declares that they are not apart of the French government anymore.
  • Tennis Court Oath

    The Tennis Court Oath was made by the Third Estate after being kicked out of their meeting, which they then had a meet at a tennis court. They said they were "not to separate until a French Constitution was made."
  • Storming of the Bastille

    The Bastille was a armory and prison and it was raided by the Third Estate to gain ammunition and weapons. It made the Third Estate have a good chance against the rich Second and First Estate.
  • Declaration of the Rights of Man

    This was a book written talking about the freedoms of man. It helped the French Revolution because it helped people realize that everyone should have rights and be equal.
  • Women's March on Versailles

    This was a riot in a marketplace where women were rioting over the high price of bread. The result of this was that the monarchist faction of the Assembly lost its significance.
  • Execution of King Louis XVI

    King Louis XVI head was chopped off by a guillotine and presented to the crowd as a prize. This advanced the Revolution by making the First and Second Estate scared because they got the King easily.

    Reign of Terror

    This was a time where everything was dark and extremely violent. The radicalists would kill or capture anyone who they thought didn't support the Revolution, even if they did. This advanced the Revolution by eliminating lots of people, First, Second, and Third Estate.

    Robespierre was a French Revolutionist that was a Jacobin, a violent leader for the Third Estate. His death was impactful because he was a very important leader for the Revolutionist and he was a main leader and the one of the reasons for Reign of Terror

    The Napoleonic Code was a code that gave men in families much more rights than women and children. In fact, they lost most of their rights while men gained a lot.

    While France needed a leader, Napoleon Bonaparte took actions for himself and made himself the leader. The reason he did this was to gain power of France and the Catholic churches and circles

    This war was between Spain, United Kingdom, Portugal, and France. France was trying to gain control over the Iberian Peninsula. Ultimately, the French lost and did not gain control.

    French Invasion of Russia

    Napoleon and about 100,000 of his men marched to Moscow, Russia, only to find it abandoned. Napoleon's men stayed but was then forced to flee because of a fire and Russian soldiers.
  • Napoleon Exiled to Elba

    After his defeat in Russia and the Peninsular War, Napoleon offered to step down if his son would be leader, however it was rejected. He then stepped down and was sent to Elba, a Mediterranean island off the coast of Italy. In less than a year, he escaped his island.
  • Death of Napoleon

    In 1815, Napoleon was exiled to Saint Helena, he lived there until the time he died. The reason of his death is most likely from stomach cancer.
