    Napoleon wanted control over all of Europe and wanted French Power in America. Napoleon decided to give up all of his Louisiana territory and sold it to Jefferson for $15 million dollars when his army was struck with disease. Napoleon's French Empire was vast but very unstable. It goes to show he had a lot of power but sometimes power isn't always a good thing.

    As a leader Napoleon entered Italy and had multiple successful battles. To protect French Trade he went to battle in Egypt. Once in Egypt he failed to win but managed to keep his failures a secret. For keeping that secret he was remembered as a well known hero in France.

    Napoleon's Costly Mistakes

    In the quest for more power Napoleon made three major mistakes. He created a blockade to destroy British trade but it failed and Britain created its own successful blockade. Next, he sent an invasion force through Spain which enraged the Spanish people. Lastly, Napoleon marched his army of 420,000 soldiers into Russia and was attacked many times and ended up with 10,000 soldiers when it all ended. Napoleon was too power hungry and made many mistakes and costed many of his soldiers their lives.
