Final Timeline Project PY212

  • Major Life Event

    I was born
  • Infancy: Emotional Development

My mom tells me that as a baby, I was very happy. She has always bragged that I had a great temperament.
  • Infancy: Emotional Development

As an infant I was very securely attached to my mom. It was always just me and her. I've never had an attachment to my father so my mom kinda over compensated.
  • Early Childhood: Cognitive Development

    Early Childhood: Cognitive Development
As a young child, I was into many different things. I liked the stereotypical little girl things such as kittens, princesses, the color pink and stuffed animals. However, I was also raised with two older cousins whom I was quite close with so I was also into professional wrestling. Perhaps this doesn't quite fit with normal categorization for children because of my extremely different interests.

    Major Life Event
    My dad leaves.
  • Early Childhood: Emotional Development

I've always heard my family, friends, and teachers describe me as wonderful kid. I generally had a great temperament and was always happy. I only ever remember getting spanked once because I was playing with scissors. Other than that I was a great student and an obedient child
  • Childhhood: Physical Development

As a child I participated in a lot of physical activity. I enjoyed taking dance lessons, cheer leading, rollerskating, or even just running around in the yard playing pretend.
  • Early Childhood: Cognitive Development

In the first grade, my teacher had bookcases lining every wall in the classroom. She let us take the books home and keep them as long as we liked. She also put a huge emphasis on learning new vocabulary. I believe she helped my language acquisition quite a lot.
  • Middle/Late Childhood: Gross/Fine Motor Skills

In middle to late childhood I had fairly well developed gross and fine motor skills. I could button my shirts and tie my shoes by myself; I could also run, skip, jump and play
  • Adolescence: Physical development

I was a late bloomer in middle school. All my friends hit puberty before me and it would make me self conscious. All my girl friends were wearing bras and filling out while I still looked the same as when I was 8. I probably didn't actually hit puberty until the 8th grade.
  • Adolescence: Cognitive Development

As an adolescent, I was a very good student. I read a lot of books and always made A's. I was generally the smartest kid in class and graduated 19th in my class of 200 (I would've been higher up if i had actually dual enrolled with my honors classes). So cognitively, I developed exceptionally
  • Major Lie Event

    Major Lie Event
    My best friend is born
  • Adolescence: Physical Development

    Adolescence: Physical Development
In my teenage years I was not as enthusiastic about exercise as my childhood years. I suffered through P.E. but I still participated in cheer leading which at times could be very physically demanding.
  • Adolescence: Gross/ Fine Motor Skills

I participated in cheer leading all throughout middle and high school. I could do toe-touches and stunts such as basket tosses and one-mans. However, I struggled with tumbling. I enjoyed to tumble but I was too nervous to perform on my own. It was this fear that lead me to quit my junior year of high school. That was one gross motor skill I struggled with and I regret not working harder at it.
  • Major Life Event

    Major Life Event
Just before my 16th birthday I lost my cousin whom I was raised with and very very close too. I believe this changed the course of my adolescent development emotionally.
  • Adolescence: Emotional Development

I feel like Sternberg would have described the most important relationship in my teenage years as just Liking. My most serious boyfriend in high school taught me a lot about what not to do in a romantic relationship. We knew we had strong feelings for each other but there was not much else. We were not passionately involved and we definitely did not make future plans or commitment.
  • Major Life Event

I got accepted to my dream school
  • Early Adulthood: Emotional Development

I'm not sure what Sternberg would say of my relationship now considering I'm not in one. But if I were, I hope he'd say it was consummate love. that me and my imaginary partner were very much in love and in sync

    Major Life Event
    Started classes at UAB
  • Adulthood: Physical Development

As an adult, I really enjoy gym time whenever I can squeeze it into my schedule. my life is quite sedentary currently other than hiking to class everyday.
  • Early Adulthood: Emotional Development

After one of my very close friend since elementary school broke my trust in her, I became very Dismissive/Avoidably attached to everyone. I did not want to be hurt like that again. But now, a little over a year later, I am securely attached to my new best friend. We go to each other for comfort. We're always open and honest as well.
  • Early Adulthood: Gross/ Fine Motor skills

My gross/fine motor skills haven't changed mush since my cheer leading days. I am definitely not as flexible as I used to be. I think if I really tried, I could probably still perform some jumps.
  • Early Adulthood: Cognitive Development

I don't want to say I am not as smart as I was in middle school and high school, however I will say i struggle more in college classes than I did in public school. I do not participate in much outside of required tasks in class to keep my cognitive development going or supported.
