    My Dad Was Born
On this day, my dad was born. He was born in Chinnalapatty, Tamil Nadu. The place where he was born was a village. For the first year of his life, he was exposed to a village lifestyle. There were many cultural festivals and celebrations. There also was a variety of plant and animal life.

My Dad Moved To A Different City
A year after my dad was born, my grandparents decided to moved to another city. However, they moved to an urban setting. Therefore, they had to get used to the hustle-and-bustle lifestyle of a city. However, they adjusted and had a better life. My grandpa started a textile business and gave his family a steady income. Even after my dad came to Canada, they continue to live there and likely will for a long time.
  • My Mom Was Born

    My Mom Was Born
Two years after my dad was born, my mom was born. My mom was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She was born a very healthy baby and enjoyed her childhood. Being a girl, she was shown a little more affection and mercy than her older brother, Johnson. My mom was born in an urban environment and was used to how busy the city is.
  • The Charter of Rights and Freedoms

The Charter of Rights and Freedoms
One of the most significant Canadian events in Canadian history was The Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It was written into the Constitution on April 17, 1982. This event significantly impacted not only my family, but millions of other people too. Without The Charter of Rights and Freedoms, in my opinion, makes Canada a lot less appealing to immigrants.
  • My Dad Moved Out Of His Parent's House

My Dad Moved Out Of His Parent's House
This day was a fairly sad day for my dad. He had to move out of my grandparents' house for a better education. He was only in grade 10 when he had to move out. You see, there was a highly respected school being built in another city. For the good of their son, my grandparents told him to go there. One of my uncles lived in that city and gladly welcomed my dad to stay at his house. My dad greatly benefited from going to that school and got very good marks there.

This event also inspired my mom to immigrate to a western country (Canada).
  • My Dad Immigrated To Canada

    My Dad Immigrated To Canada
This event in my dad's life was arguably the most life-changing. Like most immigrants, he came for a better job and a better life. However, life as an immigrant was not as easy as he thought. Even though there were many challenges as a new immigrant, he never gave up on his dream of having a good life in Canada.

Canada Says "No" To Joining Iraqi War
On March 3, 2003, "Operation Iraqi Freedom" was started by the U.S. However, Canada refused to help in the war. That decision, was one of the best Canada could have made. Fighting against terror is a good thing, but it is also an issue about national safety. They could put the nation in danger of terror attacks. Eventually, the pain subsided, and my mom excepted the loss.

    Justin Trudeau Became Prime Minister
Another significant Canadian event was when Justin Trudeau became Prime Minister. Since our former Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, finished his two terms, we needed to elect a new PM. Our family, like many other, supported and voted for him. We believed that he would keep his promises and be a responsible PM.

    Canada 150
This event was a HUGE milestone for Canada. July 1st, 2017, marked Canada's 150th anniversary. Many people, along with my family, celebrated this huge milestone. This is important to my family, because you can't live in Canada if Canada is not a country.
