Attack on Pearl Harbor
The Japenese attack the U.S. millitary port in hawaii. Many important naval ships were sunk and many people died. My Grampa Franco Ferro hides from German soldiers
The German army is occupying Italy at this time, and they are not so nice to the people living their. So my grampa just a little boy and the rest of his family go in the montains to get away from the Germans. (In this picture is the city my grampa lived in during the war.) -
Germans leave Italy, My grampa goes back home
When the German soldiers retreat from my grampas home town he returns home. They have a small parade to greet the incoming Americans. My grampa is very happy to be home and cheers on the american soldiers as they arrive. -
WW2 ends
World war two ends and most of Europe is controlled by the U.S. and the Soviet Union. Hitler commits sucicide as the allies are rushing the streets of Berlin. -
Berlin air lift

So in responce the Soviets blockaded Berlin and allowed no one or anything to enter. For more than a year U.S. droped cair packages to aid the people there. until the Soviets finally took the blockade down. -
Korean War
Korean war begins and it lasts for three years. it officaly ended on july 27 1953. America is still at the border of North and South Korea today keeping peace and making sure th north dosent strike again. -
My Grampas father dies
Fowoling my grampas fathers death he has to take care of his family now. He is forced to get a job to support the rest of his family. He is the oldest boy of the family so its his duty. It takes my grampa a long time to get enough respect at his job sight to get a descent pay. -
My grampa moves to America
My grampa only 16 years old goes off alone into anthother country. He has to take a two week trip and a low class ship. Then when he aravied in New York city he had to make his way to Detroit were his uncle was. -
My Grampa gets his first car
My Grampa 19 years old is desperate for a car. So his uncle desides to buy him one. He gets a 1952 Chevy skyline, and he was very happy. -
My grandparents get married
My grandma Anntonete and my grandpa Franco get hitched. It takes place in a small neighborhood church in Detroit. They had a small wedding with just a few family members, because at this time they could not afford a big wedding. They are still married till this day. -
Grandparents move in first home
At the begining of their marriage they lived in my grandmas moms home. They did not enjoy this very much so after a year they found a home for them. It was a 1200 sq ft. house on the outskirts of detroit. He paid arround 10000 dollars for the house and he said that it was alot for the house back then. -
Kennedys assination
Kennedy our thirty fifth president was assassinated on november 22 1963. It happened in Dallas Texas and no one saw it comming. They found the killer Lee Harvey Oswald and he never got to go to court because he was killed before his trail.

U.S. goes to war with Vietnam
In 1965 the U.S. goes to war with Veitnam to stop the spread of communism (containment). Also another reason for Americas involvement was the domino theory, if one country falls to communism the surrounding countrys will follow. This war was very unpopular among the citizens of the U.S. and many protests went on against it. Most poeple would say that we lost the war and did not gain anything from it. The war finally ended in 1973 when the cease fire was signed. -
Tet Offensive

It was a series suprise attack that no one saw comming and the north threw everything they had at us. It lasted for 2 months and even though the vietnamiese had more loses it was a huge setback for the U.S.. -
Mom is born
Just like my dad my mom is born at St. Joseph hospital near detroit. She was born at 10p.m. and weighted 7.6 pounds.

Moon landing

America was the first country to land on the moon, and this was a huge acomplishment for our country. The reason for the rush to get their was because of the space race between the Soviet Union and the U.S.. This landing was Apollo 11. -
Woodstock Concert
This 3 day event was the most remeberable rock concert there ever was. Thirty two acts were preformed and thousands of rock lovers attended the concert. Many of the bands that preformed here we still listen to today.
