When I was about 4, my father was installing a new bathtub, and something didn't go right. So my mom asked him where the instructions were and his response was " I don't need no stinking instructions" my mom got it all on video. And when I think about it, I cant remember my dad ever reading instructions. He skims them but doesn't ever really read them.

My teacher Mrs. Helbing was the sweetest lady. Every day we would have carpet time, she would read the box car children to us. I asked for a box car children book that year for Christmas and always pretended to read all of the words when I really only knew a few.

Wrestle mania, the match between john cena and the heart break kid sean michaels has a career match, and whoever lost had to retire. I bet my teacher a T-shit for who would win.
  • My middle name

    My middle name
I remember learning how to spell my middle name in about first grade, or so I thought I knew how to spell it. I never recalled my parents ever teaching me how to spell it. One of the words we had to know was "tell" and with my middle name being Chantel, I though it was spelled Chantell with two L's , just like the word tell. I wrote it on a paper one day in fourth grade and took whatever it was home to show my parents. And that's when I found out I was spelling my name wrong all along.

    Age 11, 6th Grade
Middle school had started and I never liked reading class, or writing, or anything at all to do with English, it just wasn't for me. My teacher, Mr. Bergum told us that at the end of the year, he would take his top 6 students on a boating trip. That really encouraged me to well in his class. At the end of the year when I saw my grade and was able to go on the boating trip, I started to like English a little more. 1

My reading teacher Ms. Anderson assigned us a book called "The Breadwinner" I was dreading it. I ended up reading the whole entire book and it turned out to be one of the best books I have read. I realized that even if a book looks boring to you, and useless, actually trying it out can be useful, and it could turn out to be something you really like.
  • Justin Bieber was my future husband

Justin Bieber was my future husband
Biebers song "Never say Never" came out and I was obsessed. I didn't listen to any other music except for his, and my whole bedroom was covered. Some of his songs like "Born to be Somebody" really influenced me. Because at that time, I was involved in a lot of drama in school and felt like I was nothing. Every time I would listen to his song i felt like I had a purpose.

Age 13, 8th Grade, Mr.Gallops Social Studies class
Social Studies that year was huge learning curve for me. It was the first year I had to actually take notes for points in my notebook. My teacher had a certain way he wanted the notes taken, and if you didn't do it the right way, you would have points deducted. It forced me to learn the right way to take notes.

My English teacher Mrs. Szemraj had to be 75 years old at the time. She refused to use the smart board because it was "too much work" She would write in cursive on the board and it was hard for everyone to read. None of us really knew cursive because we only learned it for a few weeks in third grade.

My tenth grade English teacher was very positive. She made me enjoy English class for once! she was such a fun and energetic person that everyone enjoyed her company (well most people). We read the book "Animal Farm" and in the beginning of the book I did not enjoy myself, I somehow made it through to the end and I have no regrets.

    11th grade Age 17
My English teacher was horrible. My tenth grade teacher finally got me to enjoy English a little more and then Junior year came along. We read the book "of mice and men", which wasn't bad, but she took weeks to put simple assignments in so we really didn't know our grade until just a few days before they were due.

    Age 19, College has started
College has begun and once again I really enjoy my English class. It is very laid back and not very much reading has been involved, more writing and that is what I would prefer.
