The first hair straightener made in 1872 created by Marcel Grateau. It contained heated rods and a big handle.
 -

Evolution in the straightner came in 1906 by Simon E. Monroe . He made the key feature a comb to straighten more efficienly and to have you hair looking more polished.
 -

in 1909 K. Shero invented the straightner with a new technique. now you have an iron compressing with heat
 -

it wasnt till 1912 that a design stuck ,innovated by Lady Jennifer Bell Schofield. a hinge would contain two hot irons. the irons would open and close two recieve hair in between them. this is the start of the modern design.
 -

in some cases irons would be used as a striaghter. they'd put hair on a flat surface and go over it with a clothihng iron
 -

after big hair blew over in the 80s , it was back to straight hair. this came the more modern irons which were specifically marketed for striaghtening hair.
 -

at this time the striiaghtner became more world known with hair pros. it evolved to be more portable
 -

ceremic plates became more efficient than iron plates did. they made a huge difference to the health of your hair.
 -

the next improvement to the striaghtner was more buttons, that controled heat. these gave options to the temperature at which you style your hair.
 -

today striaghteners come in any color you want , temperature control buttons , can turn off by itself when over heating , and can even brush your hair while you striaghten (etc). from heating up metal to having it heat up itself, the straightener has come a long way.
