I Was Born!
I was born a very healthy baby girl, in Phoenix, Arizona on a very hot summer’s day. Nobody knew what to name me until calling my grandfather in New Jersey. "Is it a girl?" "Then it's Julia!" -
My Mother Became Sick
During my mother's pregnancy with me, she became very ill. A lot of doctor's thought she was faking or crazy. Then she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia two years later. -
My Sister Was Born!
My beautiful baby sister, Jenna Marie Paterno, was born. My mother was on medication for four months out of the pregnancy before actually finding out she was pregnant, so they kept Jenna in the hospital for quite a while longer to make sure she was healthy. My mother was very sick after that as well. So I helped her with Jenna. Teaching her how to write, read, and even potty training her. -
We Had to Move
The house I loved and grew up in was getting foreclosed on. We were given 30 days to move everything we owned. Miraculously we found the perfect home, in the perfect neighborhood. -
We Moved.. Again
Our landlord said we must buy the home in order to stay there or we had to move out. Being that the asking price was for out of our budget, we moved again. Only about 8 miles away, but still far from school and new friends. I was a teenager by then, so it was difficult to do. -
I Got My First Job!
I got my first job at Baskin Robbins. I was an amazing opportunity and if I could do it over again, I would. I learned so much and wish I would've stayed longer. I was terminated a month later for "poor performance", when really it was because I dyed my hair fire-engine red. -
My Father Lost His Job
My father worked for AZ Auto Tech LLC for half a year. He's an electronic engineer by degree. He made thousands of break light circuit boards. I learned a lot form that as well. I assisted him in making and testing all of them. -
I Got My Second Job!
I got my second job at TJMAXX. It was my favorite job and best working experience. I had to dress business casual and know how to formally greet and assist customers. It not only widened my work place skills, it widened my social skills and kept my verbal skills sharp. -
Quitting My Job
I went from a full-time worker to only getting 10 hours a week, IF I was lucky. Although minimum wage was raised, I still knew there was no longer anything beneficial about the job. I had to look for better opportunities elsewhere. -
I Got My Permit to Drive!
Finally on my third try for my permit test, I was offered a written exam to ease my nerves. I passed and now I get to drive my mother everywhere she needs to go. I'm one step closer to being an adult.
