The middle ages was a time when there was no government power, and everyone was fighting. It happened after the fall of the roman empire. People lived by the feudal system. There was a lord who had a manor, he had knights, and serfs who lived on the land in little houses. The serfs were basically their slaves, they did all the work and they weren't allowed to leave the land. The different fiefs would fight each other. The only power was the church, even though they didn't have a lot of power.

The bubonic plague came from China to Italy through trade and spread throughout Europe. It killed aroung 250,000 people. It is part of the reason the dark ages ended. The Black Death was blamed on the jews since the areas they lived in were not greatly hit.

The printing press changed Europe. THey were able to print books which caused people to read more. One of the books they printed a lot of was the bible. People started to disagree with what the church said which caused the reformation.

King Henry VIII was declared Supreme head of the Church of England. One of the reasons he did this was so he could get a divorce from one of his wives, but the Pope still wouldn't allow it.

Charles I was executed due to his actions. He interfered with the churches, levyed taxes without getting permission from parlement. He was in two wars and both he lost. After them, he was captured, tried, and executed for high treason.

The French Revolution was caused because of famine and a large amount of debt the country had. The absolute monarchy collapsed and transfered to the feudal system. Thousands of people were killed.

This is important because the Nazi Party was the cause of World War II that killed many people all over the world. It started in Germany.

The Berlin Wall was taken down symbolizing the end of the Cold War. The Berlin Wall separated East and West Berlin.

Charlemagne conquered a lot of western Europe. They spread Christianity to many places.
