In my first couple of months in kindergarten, my mom taught me all about the fashion industry. She was working for a brand called Hot Cotton and often took me on tours of the factory that made the clothes. I began to fall in love with the idea of making clothes.

My mom began to teach my cousins and I how to sew and knit. She made us take turns doing different tasks when making something which taught me the importance of collaboration.

This was the year MySpace became very popular, so my cousins and I decided to make accounts. We were so intrigued by the site because we were able to communicate with each other on the computer. We also liked how we could post the things we made for our friends to see.

I began talking to my teacher Ms. Schiller about my love for knitting. She suggested that I get into the knitting club which she happened to be the creator of. I began to make friends in the club and started making projects with them for school.

After seeing how popular it became, I made a Facebook account. With my previous experience in using MySpace, I began to post things that my friends and I made in our knitting club. We started making more pieces after people asked if they could buy them.

As the following on my own personal Facebook page grew, my friends and I decided to make a new page for just our knitting. Because we all went to different high schools now, it became harder for us to meet us. However, Ms. Schiller offered to have us over weekly so that we could still make projects together for our page.

I made a separate Instagram account for my knitting business. Facebook wasn't as popular anymore and my customers had moved on to Instagram. I started to make more trendy things by myself and posting them on the page.

As I moved away to college, I began to gain an even bigger following on my Instagram page. I began making bathing suit tops and shirts with my school's logo that were becoming very popular. Although it was time consuming, I made a lot of money off of my pieces.

I am no longer able to keep up with my business because it is too time consuming and began to interfere with my school work. I still knit on my free time and will make projects if someone specifically asks for something, but I have since deleted all of my pages.
