Born in Yuma, AZ, to Erin & Andrew Goodwin (both 20 yrs old). -
Started walking!
Developmentally on track, started to walk a little over a year & got right to exploring! -
Moved from Yuma to Chandler
Moved into a small two bedroom in Chanlder, developmentally & economically moving from Yuma was one of the best things that could have happened for my family. -
Younger Brother Born
My younger brother Zachary was born in Chandler, AZ. Emotionally it was hard for me when he was born, beause I was used to being an only child, but I got used to him, honestly really helped to raise him, & now we get along well. -
Started at Dobson Acedemy Ball Charter
I was able to stay home with my mother untill I went to kindergarten because my mother ran an inhome preschool. Socially & academically I was ready to go to school & start learning & being in a structured environment, even if my mom really wasn't. -
Switched from Charter School to Pomeroy Elementary
When I started sixth grade, I switched over from a charter school to the public school system. This was important for my emotional and social development because my parents put me into the elementary that fed into the junior high thay knew I would be attending, so that I could spend the year making friends that would carry over into junior high and sigh school. Emotionally this transition was a little hard for me, and it took some ajustment, but in the end I was very grateful to my parents. -
Lost Grandfather
Lost my grandfather in a motorcycle accident at 50 years old. I was very close to my grandfather, but as a result my grandmother moved in with us and I became incredibley close with her. This impacted me greatly because I was incredibly close to my grandfather. He was one of my best friends & I miss him so much, even to this day. I am also the oldest of all the grandkids and the only one who still truly remembers my grandfather, which has been really hard for me. -
Started High School at Dobson High
Started 10th grade at Dobson, coming up from Hendrix Junior High. This transition was really good for me, beause losing my grandfather my first year in middle school made my middle school career incredibley difficult. I was very happy to get out of middle school & move onto high school. I truly enjoyed my academic experience at high school, and I still keep in touch with a few of my teachers from that school. -
Started Dating Tarin Sherwood
Started dating my best friend, Tarin is the love of my life & has been a HUGE supporter for my the last three and a half years. Tarin has affected my so much emotionally, he has helped me through many hard times, including keeping me in school when there was a point where I was truly feeling overwhelmed and wanted to drop out of school. He is an anchor for me and keeps me grounded and moving forward in life. -
Mom was Diagnosed with Breast Cancer
My senior year of high school, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. She went through a double masectomy, chemo, & radiation, and SHE BEAT HER CANCER!! This emotionally was one of the hardest times for me & my family, especially with me going through being in senior year & trying to get prepared and get everything I needed set up for & enrolling in college. It also made me realize it is okay to accept help, & that everone needs help sometimes. -
Graduated from Dobson High School
Graduated from Dobson High with Scholastic Diploma, plans to attend Arizona State University. This was one of the most satisfying things that I have ever accomplished. Emotionally this was SO exciting, but it was also hard to leave behind a place that had come to feel safe & move onto the dorms in ASU, to a place I don't know very well, especially with recent family health scares. -
Started at ASU
Sarted ASU pursuing degree in Early Education. -
Moved out of Dorms & into 1648
Moved into a large house with friends for the first semester of sophmore year. This was a CRAZY time in my life, and it was the first time I truly lived away from my parents. It was very educational experience and it caused me to have to grow up very fast. -
Moved into Riviera Palms in Tempe
Got first apartment!! Moved into one bedroom apartment very close to ASU campus. This was very symbolic of growing up and moving onto new,bigger, better, and more important things with my time here at ASU, & in my life in general. -
Brought Gus Home!!
Got my very frist dog, Agustus <3 Gus is my little baby, and he is treated almost like a "pratice baby". He has shown me how much work and dedication is required when you are completeley in charge of someone or something, and he is EXHAUSTING! I still love him to death though, & i'm very grateful for all the company he provides me with. -
Started Interning in 2nd grade at Ward Traditional Aademy
Starting my student teaching intership!! This is honestly testing me emotionally in a lot of different ways, I have never worked with children this old before, nor have I ever been a part of a "traditional academy" & the adjustment has been a little rough. It also has been very educational though, & I am learning alot!
