    The independence of America occured when the Continental Congress adopted the Declartion of Independence. The claim of the Declaration of Independence is that there are other times to fight like when you do not have life, liberty, and happiness. When America declared their independence it was a major turning point.

    The French Revolution brought a lot of change to France. The French Revolution brought debt to France because of lavish spending, population changes, terror, fear, the adoption of new documents like The Declaration of the Rights of Man, and the introduction of the Jacobins. The French Revolution came to end with the sudden rise of Napoleon Bonaparte.

    Without firing any shots, Napoleon overthrew the Directory through a coup d'etat. When Napoleon returned from Egypt, he wanted to take over the government. He was able to take over total control of the government through a coup d'etat. A coup d'etat is a sudden seizure of power.

    The Haitian Revolution was a slave revolt in Sanit Domingue. When Haiti won freedom from France it was a big deal because it was the only slave revolt leading to a state. Haiti eventually became an independent country with Jean-Jacques Dessalines being chosen to be governor.

    Traditional crownings happened by the Pope placing the crown on someone's head. When Napoleon crownded himself emperor he took the crown from the Pope's hands and placed it on his own head. This resembled Napoleon having more power than the church.

    Hidalgo's call for Mexican Independence revolutionized Mexican History. He ordered the arrest of the Native Spaniards. He began ringing the bells at Dolores, but not at the hour of mass. Then he calls for Indians and Blacks to march to Mexcio City.

    When Napoleon was defeated at the Battle of Waterloo this was one of his few loses. Napoleon was the type of fighter that never wanted to lose. He wanted to be involved in many battles so he could claim lots of land. But once Napoleon lost at Waterloo, his downfall began.
