Issy's Life

  • Birth

    Birth

I was born at 6:28 PM in Greenwich hospital. I was scheduled to be born that day so my dad had to miss a day of shooting training and he still holds it against me to this day. I think that was the most important day in the world because I was sent from the heavens and was a perfect kid, what else can I say?
  • Meeting Bridget

    Meeting Bridget

When I was little, my mom was still in nursing school and working at Kelly's while my dad worked in New Rochelle. Because of that, my older sister and I were babysat by another family in Putnam Lake which happens to be Bridget's cousin. We spent every day before preschool and kindergarten together. That's where it all started. Since then, we've been inseparable and the iconic black and white best friends, like Zendaya and Bella Thorne in Shake it up.
  • Joining my first team

    Joining my first team

I joined my church's CYO team in 4th grade. That was the first time any of us had played basketball on a team before so of course, we all sucked at first but we ended up winning a championship in 8th grade. Being on this team from a young age taught me about teamwork and compromising as well as commitment. I was on this team for 8 years and it started my love for playing sports and being active. I made friends from being on this team that I probably would never have made.
  • Diagnosed with ADHD

    Diagnosed with ADHD

I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder, ADHD, in 5th grade which caused me to not be able to focus on school or conversations as well as stopped me from sleeping on time. Although its a minor learning disorder, it affects me to this day. I went off medication for years because I thought it had gone away but I started struggling with work again. Junior year, I went back on medication but I still forget to take it often, which is hard especially doing online work now.
  • Flying to England by myself

    Flying to England by myself

I flew to England to see my mom's side of the family when I was 13. I wasn't technically alone because there was a flight attendant who was in charge of me, but it's a bit different than going places with your family. I've been flying since I was a baby because half my family is from England so I wasn't scared but I did miss my friends and family because I went for more than a month. I visited family members around the country and spent a few days in Paris with my granddad and his girlfriend.
  • Freshman Year

    Freshman Year

In middle school, I was a background character in my own life. Freshman year was a turning point for me, physically and mentally. I started to have a sense of individuality. Although some people who were a big part of my life back then are no longer a part of my life at all, I still appreciate everything they may have taught me. I'm 10x more confident than I used to be and although I'm still learning who I am as a person, I can say that I'm overall happy with who I am.
  • First Modeling Shoot

    First Modeling Shoot

In the summer of 2018, I was approached at a beach to do a clothing shoot for a boutique in New Canaan. In November, I went to the boutique, met the photographer, and was set up with clothes. At first, it was nerve-wracking but I loved the experience of being in front of a camera with a professional for the first time. It also showed me that other people see me as beautiful no matter how many flaws I see in myself.
  • Joined the track team

    Joined the track team

One of my friends convinced me to join the track team in winter of sophomore year. In the beginning, I was so close to quitting but I'm so happy I didn't. Eventually, I fell in love with my events. Over 3 seasons, I received Rookie of the Year, MVP, 2 all-league titles, and 1 all-county title. This sport is one of the things I am most proud of currently. It keeps me active and in shape but it's fun while at the same time making me push myself and use my competitors as motivation.
  • Quitting Orchestra

    Quitting Orchestra

I played cello in the school orchestra since 5th grade and it was never a huge passion of mine, but it was fun so I stuck with it. Sophomore year, I quit. I had never flat-out quit a job or a team before. I found the orchestra teacher sophomore year so unbearable that I just left the program. I did enjoy playing cello up until I had him, so maybe it was a mistake to leave, I don't know. I still think it was the right decision, but maybe I'll regret it in the future.
  • My parents separated

    My parents separated

This one probably isn't a shock because 50% percent of marriages end in divorce. Of course, when they first told me and my sister that they were getting separated, we were devastated. We got over it like every other kid does. My parents dealt with their marriage very well compared to other parents. They didn't have screaming matches and custody battles. In January of 2020, my dad moved out. I see him every so often and of course, I miss him but I know that my parents are way happier like this.
