    Birth
Weighing in at 7 pounds 11 ounces, I, Emma Martin, came into this world. This image shows my amazing mother holding me in White Plains hospital. After several hours of not coming out, they realized my head was stuck(which I always get made fun of for). They had to perform a c-section and I finally emerged at 7:42. I was the first grandchild/great-grandchild to come on both sides of my family, so everyone was very excited to see me. Looking back at photos I see that I had a lot of happy visitors

  • Beauty Salon (Funny)

    Beauty Salon (Funny)
This picture was taken at my Grandma’s (my dad’s mom) house in Yorktown. I have been glamming it up since I was extremely little and used the fake lipsticks and hair curlers every time I would visit them. In that house I made a lot of memories. I had so many toys there including a doll house and play dough. My grandma would always sing me nursery rhymes and my grandpa would always give me ice-pops. This house became like a second home to me until they moved to Florida in 2013 and had to sell it.
  • Aunt's Wedding (Embarrassing)

    Aunt's Wedding (Embarrassing)
This picture is from my Auntie Dorie’s winter wonderland wedding. I was 5 at the time and was a flower girl. My mom was a bridesmaid and was pregnant with my little brother who would be born 1 month later. What makes this so memorable was I would constantly hear stories from this wedding for my whole life. When it was my turn to walk down the aisles with the flower petals, I got scared and would not go. My other Aunt who was the maid of honor had to walk me down because I would not go by myself.
  • Brother's Birth

    Brother's Birth
On January 26 2007, my best friend came into this world, Ryan Nicholas Martin. I was 5 and was the most excited I have been in my whole entire life to date. I always wanted a companion in our house to play with and help. I was dropped off at my Grandma’s so my dad could take my mom to White Plains hospital. After waiting in the family room, I was finally called in by the doctor. As soon as I saw him I immediately loved him. I would come visit them everyday until they were allowed to come home.
  • First Dance Recital (Success)

    First Dance Recital (Success)
This photo shoot was taken at my first dance recital, and now I know it was only the first of many. The costume I was wearing was for my ballet number for the song ‘Rainbow Connection’ sung by Kermit himself. Wearing the pretty outfit and hearing the applause was worth the time and effort of this (sometimes confusing when you are 5) process. I took just ballet and tap at the time and I would eventually branch out. This started so many friendships and traditions that would shape who I am today.
  • First Cruise (fear)

    First Cruise (fear)
This photo is from a stop of my first cruise, the Royal Caribbean, Oasis of the Seas. It was big and intimidating but I soon found out that you forgot you were on a boat. When we stopped at Jamaica, we payed for a package that included a lazy river (which turned out to be an actual river in the middle of nowhere) and to see Dunns River Falls (turns out we were not just seeing it but CLIMBING it with my little brother and fragile grandmother with water gushing against us) all in a sketchy van.
  • 7th Grade (struggle)

    7th Grade (struggle)
7th grade was a time of struggle for me. I would wake up every day with a stomach ache and would lash out at my parents and they had no idea how to help me. I went through multiple doctors appointments, blood drawings and ultrasounds but still, we found nothing. The doctors said I had anxiety so my parents made me see a therapist. After a month of therapy they let me see a psychiatrist who prescribed me anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medications and I was starting to feel like myself again.
  • Kylie Pop-Up (surprise)

    Kylie Pop-Up (surprise)
From February 13th-19th Kylie Jenner had a pop-up shop in NYC. I am a big fan of Kylie Cosmetics and at this shop they had limited edition stuff that I missed out on so I wanted to go very badly. My parents weren’t sure if they would let me go but the day before they told me they were willing to take me and wait in line for hours. The line before we got in was around 2 hours which was not bad compared to all the other days. Inside, they had walla full of products. It was like a dream come true.
  • Michelle's Bachelorette Party (success)

    Michelle's Bachelorette Party (success)
For my cousin Michelle’s bachelorette party most of the bridal party and a few friends went down to the city and stayed in Times Square for 2 days. We stayed at the Marriott Marquis which was in the middle of the busy streets so there was a lot to do. The first night we went out to dinner at Tony DiNapoli’s and as the ladies went clubbing my cousin Ally and I went to Sephora, Mac and got Junior’s Cheesecake. The next day we had brunch at the hotel and then went to Red Door Spa. It was very fun.
  • My Cousin Michelle's Wedding (failure)

    My Cousin Michelle's Wedding (failure)
Us bridesmaids started to get ready very early. We had been preparing for this for so long and it was finally here! I was wearing my favorite pair of high heels but then the photographer made us go outside and my shoes were immediately covered in mud and there were also bees. At the reception my feet were sore. I was so tired, I went to the bridal sweet to rest but I ended up sleeping through it without even dancing. I realized the next morning I didn’t grab my shoes and I never saw them again.
  • Sweet 16 (success)

    Sweet 16 (success)
I turned 16 in August but during the summer, people are away and can’t make it to parties so we held the party in September after school started again. My mom had been saving ideas on pinterest since I was 12 so we were excited and ready to start the party planning process. When picking out a dress my mom and I acted as if we were on ‘Say Yes to the Dress’. We chose a color scheme of pink, white, black, and silver and chose to have it at the Amber Room Colonnade. We had an amazing dessert table.
  • Knee Dislocation (failure)

    Knee Dislocation (failure)
I was in dance class with 30 minutes left, and my teacher told us to do pirouettes. I have done these on pointe since 8th grade so I was not hesitant about doing them. Now with 15 minutes of class left I decided to do an extra one and all of a sudden I fell. I felt my knee pop out of its socket. As I was trying to get up and go back to my car, it popped out 3 more times each worst than the last. An ambulance took us to wait 4 hours in the ER just for the doctor to tell us to see an orthopedist.
