At a young age, I learned more about endangered species and wanted to help manatees. I started donating money every Christmas and birthday to the Save the Manatee Organization because they were being killed by motorboats.
  • Psychosocial (Early Childhood)

An elderly woman named Eleanor Rota accidently called our house asking for the bus station and wasn't able to find it, so my mother and I helped her find it. After that day, we visited the elderly home to see her a couple times a week for years. She was like a grandmother to me and I always played checkers with some of the elderly people at the place.

    First serious boyfriend, Phillip Bahner.
  • Psychosocial (Adolescence)

I made the varsity volleyball team at Novi High School. It was a huge accomplishment for me because I had worked hard for six years, playing travel and school volleyball to make the team. My teammates became my best friends.
  • Cognitive/Psychosocial

I got offered my first job at ALDO Shoes by Konrad Green. I had to learn about the company and how to talk and sell to customers. Overtime, it taught me how to converse with strangers and made me a more social person.
  • Cognitive

I was in the depression unit in AP Psychology and they told us to take a quiz that measured our happiness (0 being the happiest and 80 being depressed). After taking the quiz, I scored a 72 and realized that I was indeed depressed. I had prolonged sadness for months, irritability, and lost pleasure in a lot of activities that I loved.
  • Cognitive

I checked myself into therapy with Dr. Brand at the end of my junior year of high school. It was difficult to open up about my life at first, but I realized that my stressful home environment was causing it.

  • Cognitive/Psychosocial

Although I had been going through depression and anxiety over the past year, the beginning of senior year marked my severe depression stage. I missed over two weeks of school because I was too sad to get out of bed. I didn't want to go to any events or work and I was hopeless. I had lingering suicidal thoughts.

  • Cognitive

I had been practicing for the ACT for months and recieved a 25 my last time taking it. I needed that score for my scholarship at University of Louisville at the time, so it was a big deal. I felt accomplished.

I immediately switched my major from nursing back to my original plan in high school, which was clinical psychology.

  • Cognitive/Psychosocial

Worked as a waitress/cashier at a diner and pizza place called Paradise Pizzeria and Family Restaurant. There were some cognitive issues with this because I was sexually harrassed by customers. It made me feel like a sex object and it took a while for me to overcome.
  • Psychosocial/Biosocial

One of my customers, Darrol Jenkins, always came to visit me at my job at the diner. He was a senior citizen and needed help cleaning out his house because he was a hoarder. I spent about 30+ hours cleaning his garage, kitchen, and office space.

I realized that I was in an emotionally abusive relationship for nine months and finally broke it off with my narcissistic boyfriend. I was sad, confused, and scared. For the first two weeks, I couldn't eat or sleep. My self-esteem was shattered and it took over 2 months of therapy to start feeling better.

Since the kids are in college, my husband and I decided to move somewhere warmer in the south/east coast.
  • Psychosocial

I hope to retire in my early 60s and then work about 10 hours a week in an airport so I will be able to get discounted flights. My plan is to travel after retirement.
  • Period: to

    Late Adulthood (65+)

  • Psychosocial

After retiring from my job as a clinical psychologist, I will be working at the airlines (possibly checking tickets) around 10 hours a week. I want to keep busy and have the opportunity to fly my husband and I anywhere we want for free.
  • Psychosocial

Hopefully, my husband and I will take a trip to Europe for 2 weeks in Italy and Croatia. Since our kids are grown up, we usually take a trip together once a year to a new location.
  • Psychosocial/Cognitive

Death of Parents: I predict that my parents will live until I'm around 70 years old, which means that they will live until around 100 years old. I'm extremely close with my parents, so this loss would be mentally challenging for me and having to arrange funeral arrangements. It breaks my heart just putting this on my timeline.
  • Cognitive

Since I am retired, I will have time to read more books and possibly take more classes to broaden my knowledge of the world.
  • Biosocial

I predict that I might have breast cancer at this point, since both of my grandmas had it; however, they will find it early because screenings take place frequently. I will have to get a mastectomy, but the healing process will take some time.
  • Psychosocial

I am going to join a choir or some type of singing group because it has been a hobby of mine since childhood.
  • Epilogue: Death and Dying

Although my longevity quiz told me I would live until I was 92, I believe that I will live until around the age of 98. The medical history of my ancestors and parents are clean and I take care of my well-being. If anything, my stress levels will end up shortening my life-span, but I am working to improve it. I believe the cause of death will just be old age.
