ECS 312: Timeline

  • My Family

    My Family
My family has influenced my life in more ways than I can describe. My family is my rock and support when I feel like giving up. My parents and grandparents are especially important in my life. My parents are the ones who gave me life and I am extremely blessed to have the opportunities I've had in my life. My parents always support my decisions and have helped me become stronger, more indepedent, and a better person.
  • My grandparents

    My grandparents
I believe my grandparents deserve their own category because they have been a major part in my life. My grandparents are like second parents to me. They were the ones who took me to school and picked me up after because my parents worked all day. They have supported me with every decision I've made and I see them as my best friend. My grandparents have taught me to have more confidence in myself because I am worth it.
  • My religion: Christianity

    My religion: Christianity
I consider myself a Christian but I was not born and raised that way. Both of my parents are not religious, but my grandmother is. She is the one who I went to church with when I was little and she was the one who reccomended I go to a private school. My faith has gotten me through many tough times in my life and I do consider it to be an important aspect. I know when times get rough in life I can always turn to my faith.
  • My step family

    My step family
My parents divorced when I was three years old and my dad re-married a year later. My step-family has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I consider my step-sister to be my real sister and my step-mom I consider a mother. I feel so lucky and blessed to have them in my life because they have accepted me as one of their own. They have taught me how to open up to a new family and shown me that it is possible to love family, even though they may not be blood-related.
  • Erika's Rape

    Erika's Rape
In 2009 one of my best friends was raped at a party. Being there for her through this experience taught me a lot. First, it taught me how to be a better friend and it also taught me that some people do really bad things. I have lived a pretty sheltered life and seeing this really opened my eyes to the world. It made me angry to know someone could do this and t it also taught me to not be so trusting of everyone.
  • Grandfather's death

    Grandfather's death
My grandfathers death was one of the hardest times in my life. It was completely unexpected and it was the first death in my family I was old enough to understand. Being there during the event was one of the hardest and worst things I've ever had to go through. He was one of my best friends and going from seeing him every day to never seeing him again was one of the hardest things. However, his death taught me to enjoy and appreciate life because it is short and precious.
  • Arizona State University

    Arizona State University
I have lived my whole life in California with all of my family so moving to a new state was a huge challenege for me. Moving away from my family taught me how to be indepedent. It forced me to step out of my comfort zone and do something for myself for once, but it helps to know I have my family's love and support behind me while I'm out here pursuing my dream.
  • My niece's birth

    My niece's birth
My niece's birth was probably one of the best experiences in my life. I was able to fly home for the experience and I am so happy I had that opportunity. Seeing her for the first time showed me a whole new perspective on life. It showed me that life is beautiful and amazing things can happen. She is my first niece and I am excited to watch her grow. She has made me want to be a better person and to let the small worries in life go because the bigger picture is what is important.
  • Cultural Heritage

    Cultural Heritage
I am half Italian, half Irish, and a small part German. I believe my Italian heritage is seen through my family. We have such a large family and even though my parents are divorced, both sides are still extremely important in my life. Family is the number one importance to me and I believe they are the ones who have helped shaped who I am today
