First Best Friend
Amanda lived down the street from us. Even though, she was a few years older, we were best friends for several years. Since she was a few grades ahead, she would show and sometimes teach me her homework and lessons. I feel like this helped later in school. -
Started First Grade
My first (and second, too) grade teacher would end up becoming my girl scout leader and best friend's mom. -
September 11th
Scary event for anyone, but especially when you're little and don't fully understand everything. At a young age, I got to hear/see how bad people could be. -
Started wear glasses
In fourth grade, I started wearing glasses. This began my love/hate realtionship with them. I loved that I could see everything perfectly. But I hated that I had to wear the stupid things on my face.
This was the first time I met my eye doctor, who I still go to today. He's a funny, cowboy, nerd sort of guy...awesome! -
Started wearing contacts
Problem solved! I could still see, but without the actual glasses! Got them for my birthday and forever love my parents for it. -
Grandma passed away
My grandma was someone who was very important to me. Obviously, this was a difficult and life-changing time in my life. -
Third Grade teacher passed away
He was one of my favorite teachers! So caring and funny! I definitely hope to be a teacher as amazing and well-liked as he was. -
Received ABOR Scholarship
Four year, (mostly) full ride scholarship to any of the main three AZ universities. I was so proud of myself for doing awesome on AIMS and keeping my grades high, because I got to not worry about paying for college. A big relief!
This was the last year that the full scholarship was awarded. -
Graduated from High School
This was so exciting and I felt so proud! My parents and grandpa were there. -
