    On this day, Dominic Lau was born. I was born in the Scarborough Hospital. This event is significant in my life because it was the first day I started living in the "outside" physical world. This is the day that commenced my living as my own person, and being raised by my parents. From this day, I am able to build as a person, and get my education and hopefully pursue my future job.

    First Time Going On Airplane / First Time Seeing Grandparents
    When I was 2 years old, I went on my first overseas trip. My parents wanted me to see my grandparents in Hong Kong, so we traveled there over the summer. This was significant to me because it was one of the only times I've seen my grandfather before he passed away. Aside from trying to remember what it was like being airborn at the age of two, this is significant to me because it teaches me to cherish time with loved ones.

    First Day Of School [Kindergarten]
    This is the first day of school I've ever went to. I started my kindergarten in a school in Scarborough, called Agnes McPhail Public School. This was a very signifiant day in my life because it was the first day I was away from my parents. This shows growth, and the first stage of growing up because I was learning how to deal with situations without my parents, even if it meant having the occasional "time-out"'s that I remember getting all the time. I learned a lot from this experience.

    First Time Moving Schools
    After moving schools once before from Grade 1 to Grade 2, I spent a lot of time with friends up to Grade 5. I used to live in Markham, and go to Unionville Meadows Public School. With my best friends Chris, Tommy, Ronny, and more at this school who I just became close with, I had to leave them and our tight friendships in Markham, while I had to move to Richmond Hill because of my mom needing to move closer to her work place.

    FIrst Bike Ride Without Training Wheels
    This day was the first day I rode a bike without training wheels. This is significant not only because I could ride a bike on my own, but it was significant because I got to spend the whole evening with my dad trying to ride my bike properly. This was a great bonding time with him and it was really fun. This was a stepping stone into me doing even more things on my own.

    This was the first time ever that I went fishing. I went with my dad, his friends and his friend's children. As a kid, this was very significant to me because it was the first time in my life that I was able to catch a fish, and for me to be able to spend time with my dad more and have a great time with his funny friends. We went to Stoney Lake to go fish and we caught crappies and green bass.

    This was the first time ever that I was on a basketball team. Basketball is my favorite sport, and it is one of the things that I do when I am stressed or have something on my mind. This time was significant to me because it was the first time I was on a school's team. This was great for me because I got to bond with all the guys, and even the coaches. I got a lot better at the sport I loved, and this was a great first experience of the great game of basketball.

    Scanlon Creek - First Time Away From Home
    During Grade 7, our teacher Mr. Lanning brought us on our first ever over night trip at Scanlon Creek. This event was significant to me because it was my first time ever going away from home over night for more than one day. This was very special to me because I got to bond with the amazing friends that I love, and the amazing teachers that watched me grow as a student in order to be who I am today. This is also significant because it shows how my parents trusted me to go on a field trip alone.

    In Grade 8, I won the male athlete award. This date was significant to me because after all the hard work and leadership during the year with sports, I was finally recognized for my contributions in the teams.

  • Elementry School Graduation

    On this day, I graduated from elementry school. This shows my growth as an individual, as well as a whole with my friends and peers. This time is significant because of the fact that we were all heading into the place of unknown, "highschool". This was the time of mental preparation for the next 4 years to come, and it was an amazing time looking back at all the times I had with friends in elementry. This was significant to me because it opened my eyes to how big the world was.

    YRPC - Shout 11
    In Grade 9, I had the honor of going to the York Regions President's Council Conference, which is a leadership conference for leaders all across the york region board. This was an amazing time that is significant to me because it opened up my eyes to all the people and experiences there were in this world. This conference changed my perspective of the world, and how we make decisions every day and how those decisions can have negative and positive effects on others.

    On this day, after 2 long years was the day that I got my braces off! This was a great day in my life because it gave me a boost of confidence with the new smile and all. This was significant to me because it showed the maturity in me to take care of my teeth extra careful for two years because I simply had care for myself, and I knew that if I didn't do what was asked of me, there would be consequences.

    This day was the first day that I ever picked up a guitar. I bought this guitar from a best friend of mine, Beckham Lam. I really enjoyed playing this instrument, and this is significant to me because it opened up the doors for me to learn the songs I love to listen to. Also, this let me meet a lot of new people through music, and to be able to play in the talent show at my school with a couple of my friends was a complete honor.

    On this day, the YRPC Conference of 2012 starts. This day is very significant to me because it is the first time ever that I was formally interviewed and selected for a position. For this position, I was an Aegis member, and this was an accomplishment of mine because I wanted to go to this conference for a long time, and share my leadership skills even more with others as well as develop them.
