  • Trust/Mistrust

    Erikson Stage 1 Infancy.
    Being an infant, you put your trust into those taking care or protecting you. My mother gave me the wrong kind of drink that I did not like which made me wonder what I was getting to drink for a while after.
  • My first word, rug

    Piaget's Preoperational stage.
    The significance of this event is that it is one of the many words I would come to learn in my lifetime.
  • Crawling

    Piaget's Sensorimotor theory.
    Learning to crawl was the first "step" in my life to be able to get around and help myself.
  • First Sentence

    Piaget's Preoperational Stage.
    Me saying my first sentence created the path of to which I would learn to communicate with individuals.
  • Guilt

    Erikson Stage 3 Preschooler.
    While in preschool, I took a crayon from another student. After knowing what I did was wrong for a while the guilt set in and I gave it back. This showed me that I do not like to do the wrong thing and cannot live with myself if I do.
  • Learning Multiplication

    Piaget's Concrete Operational Stage.
    In the young stages of elementary school, the ability to learn simple multiplication would help me in my later years of alegebra or geometry.
  • Being Grounded For The First Time

    Kohlberg Pre-Conventional Level.
    It was right after school let out for the summer and I was disrespectful towards my parents. Being grounded taught me you can be punished for things you shouldn't do and taught me respect from that point on.
  • Being Rewarded For Turning Money In.

    Kohlberg Pre Conventional Level.
    When I was in middle school I saw some money on the ground, so I picked it up and turned it into the office. Later that day I was rewarded with candy and five dollars which taught me some good deeds come with good rewards
  • Identity vs Role Confusion

    Erikson Stage 5 Adolescence.
    After being 18 for a while I couldn't decide what I wanted to do with life, and who I was as a person. I feel like I do now and those situations helped me become a stronger, more mature person.
  • Almost Getting A Speeding Ticket

    Kohlberg Conventional Level.
    In the future if I was to get a speeding ticket or almost get one, it would show me that I must obey all laws and that they are regulated by society.
