Developmental Psychology Timeline

  • Born

I was born to Michael and Lori Lange. The youngest out of 3, I have 2 older sisters - Michelle and Heather.
  • Mom and Dad

Recognized mom and dad exclusively at 2 months.
  • Social Smile

By christmas of my first year, there are numerous home videos and pictures that contain me smiling with nearly anyone.
  • Asthma

I was diagnosed young with asthma and it has stayed with me forever. Was labeled the 'happy weezer' because I didn't really display any outward signs of struggles related to asthma or breathing. This is definitely a part of me and is part of my identity.
  • Chit-chat

First words came 7 months after birth, said 'Da-Da' and 'Ba-Ba'.
I was held back for quite some time because my tongue was not clipped properly at first.. but once my parents discovered that they had it fixed and we never looked back as far as words go -- it was a tidal wave of words.
  • Movement!

First started crawling at 8 months old.
  • 1st love!

According to my baby book and eyewitness accounts, at 1 year I fell in love with basketball. It has stuck with me since. I loved playing it, watching it on TV, watching others, breathing it, tasting it. (yes I tried to eat everything also.)
  • Walking!

1st steps at slightly over 1 year old!
  • Reading

By 5 years old, I could read short picture books. I enjoyed reading as well as being read to. One of the favorite books of mine was a ninja turtle book that was all about them ordering pizzas.
  • School and Friends

Started Kindergarten at Oasis Elementary (Peoria, AZ) My 2 best friends were Andres (next door neighbor) and Mikey (few blocks down, through church...?). Even in grade school I was social with boys and girls.
  • Team Sports

In 1st grade I started playing team sports. Basketball was a favorite of mine I enjoyed all of them. Outside of school, this is where most of my friendships developed. Often times, school friends were sports friends, bot socially these two environments were where most of the action happened.
  • First big move.

5th grade, my family relocated from Arizona to Massachusetts. This was a large contrast in itself, but when I add in the location of WHERE in MA we moved to? (Mendon by the way...) We moved from basically the city to the sticks. The move was a shock at first, but I ended up developing my identy there as I spent most of my growing up years there. Looking back I hated it at first, but I wouldnt change a thing about it. I gained so many valuable social skills and experiences from the move there.
  • .. And back again.

4 years after moving to Massachusetts, we relocated back to the Phoenix area. No, I didn't particularly want to come back. I had adjusted to the new area and was hitting my stride in the new environment. Either way, we came back and the move was not as rough as the first. I was older. I was able to handle it better, even though I had to readjust to being at a new school again.
  • Megan

My sophomore year I met and started dating the girl who would become my wife. We 'broke up' once in high school and ended up reuniting after graduation. I wouldn't change anything major about the relationship. I feel that we had to break up to make up and we have been together since.
  • Graduation

Graduated High school from Greenway HS.
  • Hitched

Megan and I married 10/9/10 (yeah we thought about 10/10/10, but the 10th fell on a Sunday... we felt that our guests would enjoy themselves more if they did not have to go back to work the following day. Meg and I had been together since highschool basically and non-stop since late 2007. We did live together for roughly 1 year while engaged.
  • Fatherhood

My son was born on this day. Sean Patrick is his name. I still can't believe it. We had tried for some time to have our 1st child and had just about given up when we were blessed with him. Even more unbelievable is watching him grow and fully realizing that I'm not full grown yet (but I doubt anyone ever is?).
