Developmental Psych project

  • I was born

Before my mom gave birth to me I pooped and I ate it. Then my mom gave birth to me and they had to bring me back to life because I was basically dead
  • I started elementary school at William Collier Elementary in Lake Elsinore, CA

Being in a state such as California with a wide variety of different cultures and ethnicities, I remember going to school with kids from all kinds of different backgrounds and it was so fun to learn about their different cultures and how different they are from what we do here in America.
  • Moved to South Dakota

Moving here was definitely a shock to me and my family because it is culturally different here than back home so it took a while for us to adjust to the lifestyle here because we had to basically change the way that we were because it wasn't how everyone acted here.
  • Started at EPJ

After moving here around June or July me and my sister started at our new school, Elk Point- Jefferson. It was school that was really a shock to me because it was a school that everyone knew everyone or was related to each other.
  • Started at Dakota Valley

After my sister graduated from EPJ, my mom transferred me to Dakota Valley because she didn't want to drive me all the way to Elk Point for school. I think that it was good idea because I meant some of my greatest friends there and it was a little more culturally different than EPJ and I really grew in a lot of ways going to DV because of the people there and just teachers and classes were the greatest times of my life.
  • Started competitive cheer

This was the first year that I started doing competition cheer, and it was the best decision that I ever made. It did suck a little bit because the coach was no other than my mom, but in the end it was really fun because we started it together and we ended together. I talked to people that I would never probably talk to and we are still friends to this day so I loved being a part of it.
  • Started high school

This was the year! the year I started high school and let me tell you, everything that people say about high school is true. I loved being in high school, for me middle school was for some reason not as fun as they say. High school I feel you experience more and you find your true self while in high school.
  • Started driving

I was so excited to start driving because I sometimes had to sit and wait for my mom to come and pick me up and I was always the last one to leave the school.
  • Started working as a Dietary Server

I started working at my job as a dietary server. I loved doing it because I got to experience a little with working with people that I had planned on working with in the future. I did this job for a year and a half and I don't regret any of it.
  • Graduated high school

On this day, I graduated from Dakota Valley High School with a total of 82 people in the whole class. My class was probably one of the smallest classes in the whole school, which was. fine because I think that being a small class we all really bonded and connected with each in a different way and no one really got left out of things so that was really cool and in some ways I miss high school but in other ways I don't.
  • Got diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes

It was a little scary because I went days and days with being sick and not knowing what was really going on. I had finally gotten an appointment with my regular doctor a couple days before school but I was so sick the day before and went to the hospital and spent 5 days in the hospital and missed my first two days of college.
  • Apart of my first 3 Act Play

Don't let the title fool you. I am NOT an actor, I'm might throw a good lie or two to my mom but I don't have any acting skills. I did the hair and makeup for the play. The play we did was Lord of the Flies, it was really a good play.
  • Got my first tattoo

I've been wanting a tattoo for a couple of years but never got the time to really doing it. But we went to Kansas City for my mom's birthday with a few of her friends and decided that we all should get matching tattoos so we really did it and now I get to say that I have a tattoo.
  • Got my first boyfriend

Around this time is when I met my first ever boyfriend. It was something obviously new for me because he was pretty much my first everything so I was really nervous. It was something that I never saw myself doing but I did it because I really liked him.
  • Got my CNA certificate

Now, at the same place that I worked in dietary I got my CNA certificate and I love every minute of it. It does take a little more out of me than when I was working in dietary but now I get to deal with the residents on a even bigger and better level and it's more practice for me when I get into the nursing field.
  • Got another tattoo

So I decided to get another tattoo, but I got it without my mom knowing and I also did not get it professionally done. When I was with my boyfriend he gave me and his sister little heart tattoos and now that we are no longer together I really regret getting it.
  • Turned 20

I was finally turning 20, finally out the teens people say I guess. One more year until I'm officially legal to really do anything. I got to spend it with people I love the most and something that I really enjoy doing on a regular basis.
  • Had my first heartbreak

So after three short months, my boyfriend broke up with me. It was something that kinda took me by surprise but looking back at everything that he did and acted I'm honestly glad we are not together anymore.
  • My degree

I found out that I am officially three classes away from getting my degree in Exercise Science and Kinesiology. I will be coming back in the the fall though to get my degree in nursing, but I can't wait to get both!
