I have never known my real dad and my step dad has been in my life since I can remember. He has always been "dad" for me. I was in first grade when they got married and it set me up for success having supportive parents.

Music has been a big part of my life. I was in bad all throughout middle school, high school, and into college. I learned many lifelong values in marching band. I met many of my closest friends from music and met my wife in marching band in college at UW-Eau Claire.

I was always pretty good at school and worked hard to get good grades. I was proud that I graduated with honors and knew I wanted to go to college. Graduating high school was the first step toward that goal.

I started my collegiate career at UW-Eau Claire and was undecided on my major. I was heavily involved in technical theatre in high school, so I got involved in theatre in college. I soon decided I wanted to major in technical theatre. UW-Eau Claire has a general theatre major, but not a specialised major in technical theatre so I transfered to UW-Stevens Point. I graduated in December of 2014.

After graduating, I moved back to Eau Claire to live with my girlfriend(now wife). I got hired at the Eau Claire Children's Theatre right after graduating as an assistant technical director.

My wife was a music education student at UW-Eau Claire and was about to start student teaching. Her father owns a restaurant in Sarona, Wisconsin so she had the idea to move to Spooner so she could work at the restaurant while student teaching. I knew this would mean I had to leave my job at the Eau Claire Children's Theatre, but decided I was okay with a change. We moved and I worked at the restaurant full time.

My wife and I got married in the backyard of her dad's restaurant. It was a beautiful wedding and we have been happily married for 5 years this upcoming August.

My first daughter was born on February 5th, 2017. There have been many challenges that being a parent has brought. She has helped me grow as a person. She has taught me a lot about patience and to find the joy in simple things. She is an energetic kid who has a very fierce personality. Being a father is the thing I am most proud of!

I worked at the post office as a substitute mail carrier. There was a full time carrier that was retiring and I was hoping to get her route to be full time. The promotion to full time is completely based on seniority, and the person right above me got the route as others above in seniority did not want it. I was pretty disappointed since I was close to getting it. After this I decided to leave the post office and starting working at my father in law's restaurant and started substitute teaching.

My second daughter was born on February 13th, 2019. The difference between one and two kids was a big jump for us. Luna is more shy than our daughter, but is very loud when she's at home with family. About a year ago she got a staph infection that was a very difficult time as she needed to have a picc line on at all times for 4 weeks that she got antibiotics through an IV for 6 weeks. It was very challenging and difficult, but she made a full recovery.

After substitute teaching at the Northwood School District I decided to pursue licensure for special education. I completed an online program called American Board and then got hired by Northwood School District as a K-12 Emotional Behavior Disability special education teacher.
