    Israel launched several air strikes against Egypt, Jordan and Syria. Israel took control of many places and land in the West Bank and Gaza, who had a large population of Palestinians.
  • Yom Kippur War

    Yom Kippur War
    Syria and Egypt launched an attack on Israel in order to get their land back. The US helped Israel and pushed back Egypt and Syria and both sides eventually ceased fire after 20 days of fighting.
  • OPEC declaired oil embargo

    OPEC declaired oil embargo
    In response to the US and Western Europe aid in Israel, OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) declared an oil embargo. This increased prices from $3 to $12 and this lasted until March 18th of 1974.
  • Camp David Accords

    Camp David Accords
    After years of frustrating battles, Egypt finally wanted peace with Israel. President Jimmy Carter wanted to help with this agreement and invited them onto US soil and faciliate this peace agreement. Egypt recognized Israel and Israel gave back the Sinai Peninsula to Egypt.
