Concord Bible Church

  • Established

    A small group of believers, concerned over denominational trends, saw the need for an independent church in the city of Concord that would stand for the authority of God’s Word. Through the generosity of Rev. C. R. Allison, 5 acres of land was donated to establish the new church.
  • Church building completed

    The new church was completed in December. Rev. John Belk served part time asthe first pastor of the church, and Robert E. Fisher, Norman Alexander, and Robert Alexander served as officers.
  • Incorported as Concord Bible Church

    In January with church funds at an all-time low, the church agreed to access the Church Planting Ministry at Bob Jones University to secure pulpit speakers and seek a full time pastor. Dr. Richard Rupp and Dr. Ottis Holmes were among the men provided as speakers by the university. Rev. Jack Tillman was called to serve as interim pastor. In June Rev.   • Rev. David Legrand

    In May Rev. Krewson resigned as pastor to pursue seminary training in California. Rev. David Legrand of Piedmont Baptist Bible College served as the interim pastor.
  • Rev. Thomas Sandquist

    On January 24 the church called Rev. Thomas Sandquist, a 1982 graduate of Bob Jones University, as the new pastor. He has now served as pastor of Concord Bible Church for 24 years.
